Italy has been a powerhouse since returning to Eurovision in 2011, but which songs have performed the best?
After 1997, Italy took a break from Eurovision until their return 14 years later.
Since then, 12 of the 14 entries have made the Top 10, including a win, two second places and a third.
But which have performed the best?
We have ranked the 14 entries by the average number of points received per country.
To work this out, we divided the total points by the total countries voting for them.
This was doubled during the era of public and jury votes were separated. The Rest of the World was also included from 2023.
For example, this year saw 36 countries with 72 sets of votes (public and jury) vote for Italy plus Rest of the World to make 73.
So Italy's score of 253 in Basel was divided by 73 points.
Here are the results:
Rankings by average points
14. Emma - La mia città  (2014)
0.92 points
13. Francesca Michielin - No Degree of Separation (2016)
1.51 points
12. Nina Zilli - L'amore è femmina (Out of Love) (2012)

He was the jury's favourite but with the public vote not coming in as strong, he finished 2nd overall on the night.
4. Marco Mengoni - Due vite (2023)
4.79 points
Marco's returned to Eurovision after finishing 7th in 2013. His song Due vite was a hit with the public and jury (receiving almost the same score) to finish 4th overall.

Mahmood's first run at Eurovision in 2019 saw him finish 3rd with the public and 4th with juries to finish 2nd overall.
2. Måneskin - Zitti e buoni (2021)

Italy's first Eurovision win since 1990 came off a public-vote-winning score and a solid jury result.
Despite being the only win in the 21st century, it doesn't have the highest overall average points.
1. Il Volo - Grande amore (2015)
