We have made it to the end of 2020, and as we approach the new year we have seen many new music releases and show announcements from our past Australian Eurovision and ‘Eurovision - Australia Decides’ artists.
Today we go through all the latest music releases, show and tour news from the following Australian Eurovision artists:
Television:
John Foreman’s Aussie Pops Orchestra NYE Gala Live -
7.30pm AEDT, Channel 10
The Aussie Pops Orchestra has performed on New Year's Eve for over 30 years, but now everyone can enjoy their sell-out show at home on free-to-air television. The glitz and glamour of Hamer Hall will be broadcast directly to your couch, with a grand gala to take you into 2021 in style!
Join in on the festivities with a night of family entertainment, featuring performances from previous Aussie Eurovision representatives Dami Im and Isaiah Firebrace. They will be joined by other Aussie stars including Bonnie Anderson, Marcia Hines and more.
Channel 10 will broadcast the entire show from Hamer Hall on New Year’s Eve at 7:30pm AEDT, as well as a replay on New Year’s Day.

Diana Rouvas - ‘Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas’

Diana Rouvas has released a cover of a Judy Garland's Christmas classic, ‘Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas’. Diana Rouvas competed in this years ‘Eurovision - Australia Decides 2020’ with the song, ‘Can We Make Heaven’. ‘Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas’ was released as part of a Christmas compilation album called ‘Sad Christmas’ on Spotify and ‘-Slow- Christmas Songs’ on YouTube. The song is a re-release Diana previously sung for ‘The Voices Of Christmas’ in 2012, which featured artists who competed on The Voice Australia.
Delta Goodrem & Olivia Newton-John - ‘Merry Christmas to You’
Released: 11 November 2020
Taken off Delta Goodrem’s Christmas album ‘Only Santa Knows’ and showcased as part of the show on Channel 9 ‘Christmas with Delta’ ‘Merry Christmas to You’ is a duet where Delta Goodrem collaborated with British-Australian singer songwriter Olivia Newton-John, who represented the United Kingdom at Eurovision in 1974 with 'Long Live Love’.
The Christmas show also featured Montaigne, Sheppard and many other special guests including Kylie Minogue. Delta sings with Montaigne in a duet of a cover of Joni Mitchell’s ‘River’ (find it at the 45:45 minute mark in the video) and Sheppard sing with Delta in a version of ‘Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree’ (find it at the 35:35 minute mark in the video).
Delta Goodrem is an Australian songwriter and pop singer, who was a judge on The Voice Australia and even co-wrote Australia’s first Junior Eurovision song ‘My Girls’ by Bella Paige in 2015. You can get the Christmas album here.
Gran Error x Alfie Arcuri - ‘Buona sera’

Alfie Arcuri, who took part in the inaugural ‘Eurovision - Australia Decides 2019’ and also co-wrote Sandro’s Eurovision entry ‘Running’ for Cyprus has created a reimagining of a classic Italian song ‘Buona sera’. He collaborated with Gran Error who’s previous 2019 single ‘Pa Mi’ reached more than 8 million views on YouTube. The original of ‘Buona sera’ is best known by the 1957 Louis Prima & His Orchestra version, reaching the top of the singles charts in parts of Europe.
Jordan-Ravi - ‘LEAVING L.A.’

Jordan-Ravi has released his next single since he released ‘Pushing Stars’ for ‘Eurovision - Australia Decides 2020’ earlier this year. His new single ‘LEAVING L.A.’ is about his journey to Los Angeles when he competed in season 14 of ‘America’s Got Talent’. On his socials Jordan-Ravi explained “It’s about the ups and downs I felt after not making it through to the finals and how I questioned everything about who I was and my career as I left such a beautifully chaotic city.”
He also recently announced that he is an opening for Tones and I in the ‘Tones and I & Sheppard for New Year’s Eve at Darwin Waterfront’ on December 31.
Isaiah Firebrace - ‘You’
Released: 11 December 2020
Isaiah Firebrace has been a very busy man, releasing another single this month, this time going solo in ‘You’. It’s his fourth song release for the year following ‘Thinking About You’, ‘Know Me Better’ and the duet with Stan Walker ‘Don’t Dream It’s Over’.
Sheppard - ‘Learning to Fly’
Released: 18 December 2020
Sheppard released their last single ‘Learning to Fly’ from their one-single-a-month challenge this year. All the songs from 2020 are part of their new album ‘Kaleidoscope Eyes’ which is set for release on February 19 2021.
You can catch the band in a New Year’s Eve show in Darwin for the ‘Tones and I & Sheppard for New Year’s Eve at Darwin Waterfront’. Sheppard headline the show with Tones and I, the artist behind the worldwide hit ‘Dance Monkey’. The show also features Jordan-Ravi.
Guy Sebastian - ‘Love is a Compass’

Guy Sebastian performed the Christmas celebration song, ‘Love is a Compass’ on his The Sebastian Foundation Carols 2020 Christmas show. The Sebastian Foundation is a foundation formed in 2013 by Australia’s first Eurovision representative Guy Sebastian and his wife Jules to help those who have experienced domestic violence and mental health issues in Australia.
Guy Sebastian was recently announced to return as a judge on The Voice Australia which has moved to the Channel 7 network. He will be joined by Keith Urban, Rita Ora and Australia’s 2018 Eurovision representative Jessica Mauboy.
New Tour and Show announcements:
Ella Hooper - ‘Acoustic Duo Shows’
'Eurovision - Australia Decides 2019' entrant and lead vocalist of the band Killing Heidi, Ella Hooper, is continuing to keeping herself busy. She will be performing an acoustic set of her songs, including some new tracks. The show also includes special guest Zoë Fox. The show will run in Victoria, Australia from January 7th to the 30th. Check out her tour website here for the full list of shows and ticket info. She will also be performing an acoustic set of her songs at the Summer Sundays Festival in Ballarat on January 17.
Dami Im - ‘Adelaide Festival’
Dami has had a busy December featuring in many Christmas shows including ‘Carols by Candlelight’ in Melbourne that aired on Channel 9. She will feature in the televised special for New Years Eve, ‘John Foreman’s Aussie Pops Orchestra NYE Gala’ on Channel 10 on December 31.
Dami Im will also take part in the Adelaide Festival in her own show set to take place at the Adelaide Festival Summerhouse on March 10. Jessica Mauboy will also take part in the event as part of the opening show on February 27 at the Adelaide Oval. Get tickets here.
Didirri - ‘Didirri with Clea and Emma Bosworth’
Didirri has just wrapped up his sold out ‘It’s The Season - Regional Tour’ across Victoria. He has now announced a new show in Queensland, ‘Didirri with Clea and Emma Bosworth’. The show will take place at the Wooly Mammoth on Friday January 29 2021. You can get tickets for the show here.
Electric Fields - ‘Inma’
In December Electric Fields were announced as the Ambassadors for the Adelaide Fringe 2021. The Adelaide Fringe is one of the biggest comedy and entertainment festivals in Australia which takes place in February to March every year.
The duo will also be performing at the Adelaide Fringe in their own show called ‘Inma’. They will be performing with Iwiri and SA First Nations Dance Collective on February 20. You can get tickets to the show here.
This month Electric Fields postponed their December Adelaide show in their home state of South Australia. ‘Electric Fields Live’ will now take place on February 4, at the same venue The Gov.
