New music, tour and show news from Australian Eurovision artists - Sheppard, Alexa Curtis and more



In November we have see many new music releases and further tour and show announcements from our past Australian Eurovision and ‘Eurovision - Australia Decides’ artists as we start to see the end of 2020.


Today we go through all the latest music releases, show and tour news from the following Australian Eurovision artists:



Television:


Various artists - ‘Good OnYa Mate: Rural Aid Concert’

Saturday, November 28, at 7.30pm AEDT on Nine

Tonight Channel Nine will broadcast another Rural Aid concert, to be hosted by the ‘Today’ morning show television team at Bella Vista Farm in Sydney.

Australian Eurovision and ‘Eurovision - Australia Decides’ artists Guy Sebastian, Dami Im, Jessica Mauboy, Casey Donovan, Isaiah Firebrace are set to join a long list of Australian artists in a concert to raise money for Rural Aid and say “Good Onya Mate” to our Aussie farmers who have survived drought, bushfire, floods and COVID-19.


Donations made during the concert will go to supporting farmers across Australia through Rural Aid’s new Stronger Futures program, which is dedicated to helping farmers develop strong and sustainable futures for their families and local communities, as well as Rural Aid’s disaster assistance program. Mitch Tambo - ‘Absolutely Everybody’

Released: 30 October 2020



Mitch Tambo has released an electro-pop version of Vanessa Amorosi’s worldwide hit ‘Absolutely Everybody’. Mitch gives the song a contemporary sound and sings in Gamilaraay language. His rendition of ‘Absolutely Everybody’ is as part of the compilation ‘Deadly Hearts - Walking Together’, which features Australian classic songs covered by Indigenous artists. The 2020 compilation is the third instalment released ahead of NAIDOC Week 2020 and during AUSMUSIC month.


Sheppard - ‘Animals’

Released: 30 October 2020


As part of Sheppard’s promise of a new single every month in 2020 their October instalment is ‘Animals’. The release also included a very colourful and fun music video. The track is described by the band as a “song for those who have always felt a little different to the rest of the crowd. It’s for those who dance to the beat of their own drum and let their inner animals run wild.” ‘Animals’ is part of their new album ‘Kaleidoscope Eyes’ set for release on February 19 2021.


Dami Im - ‘Kiss You Anyway - Korean Version’

Released: 6 November 2020



Australia’s Eurovision 2016 runner-up, Dami Im, released a Korean version of her single ‘Kiss you Anyway’. The original English version of the song was released just after new year’s day this year. The lyrics are by Yang So Young and it was produced by Lee Hyun Young. Dami posted about the song on social media:

“I had fun making this with the help of some incredible musicians, producer, engineer & lyricist in Korea. The arrangement is more unplugged and raw than the original.. I'd love for you to hear it .”


Dami Im also has announced that she will be a special guest for the Australian boy band Human Nature in their Christmas show ‘Christmas Classics, Hits + More’ on December 18 at the Brisbane Riverstage in Brisbane. You can get tickets here.


After the Human Nature Christmas show Dami is doing something special for her fans to celebrate Christmas in a livestream concert online where you can join in and sing Christmas carols and interact with members of the Dami Army from all over the world. The show is set to stream on Sunday December 20 at 7pm AEDT. Tickets are limited but you can get them here.

She is also set to tour in January 2021 in ‘Dami Im - Piano, Songs & Stories Solo Tour 2021’. The show is currently travelling to Lambton, Wollongong and Marrickville. You can check out more details and get your tickets here.


Didirri - ‘It's the Season’

Released: 6 November 2020



Didirri has released a new Christmas single which resonates with the year we have all had. In a social media post Didirri explained: “This song is the realisation that for the first time in my life I may be spending Christmas without my family. But more importantly it is about EMBRACING the fact that I may not be spending Christmas with my family, by the end of writing ‘It’s The Season’ I had accepted it. I wanted it to feel unresolved until the very end. Ending joyfully if a little bit Christmassy.”

In celebration of Didirri’s Christmas single he recently announced the ‘It’s The Season - Regional Tour’ across Victoria throughout December. Tickets are available now at didirri.com/tour


Isaiah Firebrace with Stan Walker - ‘Don't Dream It's Over’

Released: 13 November 2020



Australia’s 2017 Eurovision representative Isaiah Firebrace originally performed ‘Don't Dream It's Over’, a cover of a Crowded House classic, with Australia Idol 2007 winner, Stan Walker at the NRL (Australian National Rugby League) Indigenous All Stars match back in March 2020. It is a duet with two indigenous cultures, Isaiah who is of Australian First nations people background, the YORTA-YORTA people and Stan who is Maori.


Isaiah and Stan hit the studio and officially recorded ‘Don't Dream It's Over’ as part of the compilation ‘Deadly Hearts - Walking Together’, which features Australian classic songs covered by Indigenous artists. The 2020 compilation is the third instalment released ahead of NAIDOC Week 2020 and during AUSMUSIC month.


Jaguar Jonze - ‘MURDER’

Released: 13 November 2020



Jaguar Jonze has released her new single ‘MURDER’ while on the road on her ‘DEADALIVE Tour’. She recently has toured Brisbane, Newcastle and sold-out shows in Sydney. The ‘DEADALIVE Tour’ continues in Wollongong and Adelaide. In December Jaguar is part of the line up for Back in the Sun 2020 in Port Macquarie and in January she is part of the line up for Airwaves Festival 2021 in the Sunshine Coast in Queensland.


Mark Vincent - ‘Dance Monkey’

Released: 20 November 2020



An unlikely combination of Tones And I meets operatic, but ‘Eurovision - Australia Decides 2019’ entrant Mark Vincent has released an epic cover version of ‘Dance Monkey’! Mark adds theatre and emotion to the huge pop single by Australian Tones And I. The original song was a worldwide hit and charted at No. 1 in Australia on the ARIA Singles chart for a whopping 24 weeks.


Sheppard - ‘Solid Gold’

Released: 24 November 2020


From Sheppard’s new album, ‘Kaleidoscope Eyes’, which set for release next year, comes ‘Soild Gold’, the band’s November single release. The super catchy song has the bands signature anthemic chorus, with all the siblings taking turns as the lead vocalists. The music video is all shimmering in gold and features Kate Miller-Heidke inspired crowns from her Eurovision performance of ‘Zero Gravity’.


Alexa Curtis - ‘Overflow’

Released: 24 November 2020



Australia’s Junior Eurovision 2016 representative has released her new self-penned single ‘Overflow’. It is her first single release in over two years when she released 'Back to Live’ back in 2018 with Almagest! On social media Alexa Curtis released a statement about the new single: “I remember sitting down at the piano one afternoon and writing this with a melody that just came to me . Hope you like it.”



New Tour and Show announcements:


Ella Hooper - Various shows


'Eurovision - Australia Decides 2019' entrant and lead vocalist of the band Killing Heidi, Ella Hooper, is keeping herself very busy over the next month in the lead up to Christmas with five shows planned. The first one is tonight in Queenscliffe, Victoria as part of the Queenscliff Music Festival. On December 10 you can watch her in 'Ella Hooper Live at Transit' in Melbourne and on December 12 Ella will perform in her own Christmas show 'Christmas with Ella' at Euora. iOTA - 'Saturday Night Spectacular'


'Eurovision - Australia Decides 2019' entrant is performing a Saturday Night Spectacular on November 28 at the Royal Hotel Wyong in New South Wales. iOTA will be performing songs from his 25 year career in music and theatre. Dinner and show tickets are $85 or show only is $45. Dinner starts at 6pm and show at 8pm. Get your tickets here.
