Nadir Rustamli to represent Azerbaijan with 'Fade to Black' at Eurovision 2022



Today, İctimai Television released Nadir Rustamli's song 'Fade to Black' for Eurovision 2022.


'Fade to Black' has been written by Thomas Stengaard, Andreas Stone Johansson, Sebastian Schub and Anderz Wrethov. The songwriters have had experience writing Eurovision hits including winner 'Only Teardrops' in 2013 and other successful acts including 'Always' in 2009, 'Fuego' in 2018, 'Too Late for Love' in 2019, and 'El Diablo' and 'Andrenalina' in 2021.





About Nadir Rustamli


Nadir Rustamli was born in Saylin in Southern Azerbaijan in 1999. He learnt to play the piano in his youth and went on to graduate University with a degree in Business Administration.


Nadir also competed on 'The Voice of Azerbaijan' in 2021. His chosen coach was Eurovision winner Eldar Gasimov. He also competed with other Eurovision songs such as Eurovision winner 'Arcade' by Duncan Laurence and also 'We Could Be The Same' by MaNga.


Nadir went on to win 'The Voice of Azerbaijan' with a cover of El & Nikki's Eurovision winning song 'Running Scared'. He won the final with 42.6% of the vote.


Azerbaijan is set too perform in the first half of the second semi-final.
