There is no better way to celebrate KEiiNO returning to Australia than with the release of their highly anticipated cover of Kylie Minogue's 'On A Night Like This'!
The song is officially released in Australia!!
KEiiNO are a multi-platinum award winning trio, with seven Scandipop awards to their name. They represented Norway at Eurovision 2019 in Tel Aviv, performing 'Spirit In The Sky' which blended electronic pop, Nordic folk melodies and joik, the traditional form of song of the Sami people. They are beloved in Australia who awarded them 12 points at Eurovision 2019 and welcome them back to our shores with open arms!
KEiiNO simply couldn't have chosen a better song to cover. In a review of Kylie's greatest hits album, PopMatters' Matt James described 'On a Night Like This' as a 'bedroom-eyed nightclubber' adding it was 'still hot enough to melt large glaciers.' KEiiNO's cover is an absolute banger, rising to the occasion with equal glacier-melting heat.
Melbourne's very own icon Kylie Minogue released 'On A Night Like This' in September 2000 as the second single from her seventh studio album 'Light Years'. 'On A Night Like This' was a platinum seller and charted at No. 1 in Australia and in the top 5 in several countries throughout Europe.
In an interview with Australian Eurovision Queen Dami Im, and our very own Dale Roberts, KEiiNO revealed that they will be giving their first live performance of 'On A Night Like This' at 'Eurovision - Australia Decides.'
The trio hinted to Dami and Dale to expect a very special surprise on the 'Eurovision - Australia Decides' stage. The anticipation for their live performance of 'On A Night Like This' is sky high!
This won't be the first time the Norwegian band have sung a Kylie song, during their 2019 tour of Australia KEiiNO performed a cover of Kylie Minogue's smash hit 'Can't Get You Out Of My Head'.
In other news the band are celebrating three years of KEiiNO. They have announced the re-release of their debut album in digital format called 'OKTA GUOKTE'. It includes the songs from OKTA and 9 other singles.
You can catch KEiiNO performing at ‘Eurovision - Australia Decides 2022’ on the Gold Coast on February 25 and 26 with the amazing Australian artist line up who are all vying for the coveted spot to represent Australia at Eurovision 2022 in Turn, Italy.
