It's Benny for Czech Republic at Eurovision 2020
This morning the results of the Czech national final were announced, and the winner was Benny Cristo, who won with his song Kemama.
He finished clear of Elis Mraz & Cis T who finished 2nd, with Barbora Mochowa finishing in 3rd place.
Barbora led after the international jury vote, which included fan favourites Keiino and Australia’s own Isiah Firebrace, but came last in the online vote, relegating her to third place.
Benny finished 2nd in the jury vote and won the online vote to take the title.
Benny Cristo was a finalist of the Czech Slovak Superstar talent contest in 2009 (where he finished finished 7th). He has been in the Czech music scene for 10 years, and his hits have had millions of views on YouTube. These include Bomby (24 million views on YouTube), Asio (14 million views) and Padam (24 million views). He has also played sold out shows to tens of thousands of people.
The Czech Republic will be looking to build on their recent success at the contest, having qualified for the final in three of the last four contests.
