Iceland: Söngvakeppnin 2024 semi-final 2 results and wildcard announced



This morning, Icelandic Eurovision broadcaster RÚV held semi-final 2 of their national final Söngvakeppnin 2024.

The two acts advancing directly to the Final are:


Hera Björk – 'Við förum hærra'




Bashar Murad – 'Vestrið villt'




Sigga Ózk was awarded the wildcard and named as the fifth act to compete in the Final.


Sigga Ózk – 'Um allan alheiminn'




Eliminated from the competition were:

Heiðrún Anna – 'Þjakaður af ást'

Maiaa – 'Fljúga burt'


The final of Söngvakeppnin 2024 will take place next Sunday, March 03 (Australian time) at 6.45am ADST.


Iceland is the only Nordic country that has not won the Eurovision Song Contest. They have competed 35 times since their debut in 1986. Iceland's best result are two second-place finishes with Selma in 1999 with 'All Out of Luck' and Yohanna in 2009 with 'Is It True?'. Last year Iceland was represented by Diljá with 'Power' which failed to advance to the final.
