Guy Sebastian wins ARIA Award for Best Video

Australian music’s night of nights – the ARIA Music Awards – were awarded this evening during a ceremony held on both Channel Nine in Australia and to an international audience on YouTube, with an Australian Eurovision artist taking out a wins


The show was hosted by the internationally recognizable Delta Goodrem, who herself has a connection to Eurovision – she was the composer and lyricist to Australia’s debut Junior Eurovision entry ‘My Girls’ in 2015.


Australia's 2015 Eurovision Guy Sebastian artist took out his seventh ARIA Award win. The video for his song 'Standing With You (directed by James Chappell) won the Best Video award, beating out heavy competition from other globally famous artists such as Tones and I's 'Ur So F**king Cool' and Troye Sivan's 'Easy'.

Guy Sebastian was also nominated for Best Male Artist for ‘Standing With You’, which was won by Archie Roach. Jessica Mauboy was also nominated for Album of the Year for ‘Hilda’.


Songwriters and producers DNA (‘Sound of Silence’, ‘We Got Love’, and ‘Don’t Break Me’) and Louis Schoorl (‘Tonight Again’ and ‘Dance You Off’) were nominated for Producer of the Year for Jessica Mauboy’s ‘Hilda’.


In honour of the memory of Helen Reddy, an ensemble performance of ‘I Am Woman’ included Australian Eurovision artists Jessica Mauboy, Montaigne, Amy Sheppard, Dami Im, and Kate Miller-Heidke.
