Australia's 2018 Eurovision representative Jessica Mauboy has released her first single of the year 'Automatic'.

The single was written by Jess in conjunction with Cosmo & Patrick Liney (Cosmo's Midnight) and Sophie Curtis (ASTON) and produced by George Reid, one half of UK duo AlunaGeorge.

Jess told NME website:

"'Automatic' is about “having faith in your own sense of direction, and firmly taking the driver’s seat in all aspects of your life...believe in your intuition, and don’t be afraid to give yourself permission to explore that...the little voice in your head is usually always right."

'Automatic' comes after 32-year-old Jess released 'Glow' in November 2021, her first single in over two years and her first with Warner Music Australia. Jess spent much of the pandemic writing and recording new material after being unable to perform live due to border closures and lockdowns.

Jess recently finished up her five city 'Boss Lady' tour around Australia and is currently busy acting as a coach on 'The Voice Australia'. She performed 'Glow' on last night's episode which has seen it rocket back up to Number 5 on the Australian i-Tunes chart. On her team is Jael Wena, Australia's 2018 Junior Eurovision representative who has made it through to the Battle rounds in an episode that will air in Australia on Sunday 15th May.
