Eurovision songs from Italy ranked by Spotify streams



Out of all the 49 Eurovision entries from Italy, 46 of the songs are available for streaming on Spotify in Australia.


We take a look and see how the Eurovision entries from Italy stack up against each other based on Spotify play streams.


When adding up the total play counts for each song we included radio edits and remastered versions.


The three Italian Eurovision entries that are not included on Spotify in Australia include:

  • Claudio Villa - 'Non andare più lontano' - 1967 - 11th place at Eurovision

  • Mia Martini - 'Rapsodia' - 1992 - 4th place

  • Luca Barbarossa - 'Vivo (Ti scrivo)' - 1988 - 12th place

It comes as no surprise that the most recent Eurovision winners for Italy, Måneskin, rank first in our list with the most Spotify streams. With now over 300 million streams 'Zitti e buoni' is the fastest Eurovision song to reach the 300 million stream milestone.



The highest ranked oldest song in our list is 'Nel blu, dipinto di blu' better known as 'Volare' by Domenico Modugno who came third in the 1958 Contest 64 years ago. The song remains one of the most covered Eurovision songs ever and sits at No. 7 in our list with over 37 million streams. 'Volare' became hugely popular winning the inaugural Grammy Awards for Record and Song of the Year in 1959. When it comes to Eurovision winning songs in our list, the most recent entry topped our rankings. Italy's other winning songs 'Non ho l'età' by Gigliola Cinquetti from 1964 and 'Insieme: 1992' by Toto Cutugno from 1990 finished in 12th and 13th place respectively.



This year's entry 'Brividi' by Mahmood and Blanco is extremely popular sliding into the No.3 spot with over 80 million streams. It is one of the contenders to take out this years Contest.
