Delta Goodrem heads to Eurovision 2026 with a song that feels unmistakably built around her voice.
Australia’s entry Eclipse was written by Delta alongside Ferras Alqaisi, Jonas Myrin and Michael Fatkin.
So who are the other songwriters behind the song do they have any previous connections to Eurovision?
Michael Fatkin
Michael Fatkin, also credited as Matt Fatkin, is an Australian songwriter and producer now based in Los Angeles.
Fatkin is Grammy and APRA nominated, and is also a GMA Dove Award and BMI Award-winning songwriter and producer.
He is signed to Universal Music Publishing worldwide in conjunction with Swedish publisher The Kennel.
When Eclipse was released he took to Instagram to say:
"Honoured to help bring Eclipse to life with the amazing Delta Goodrem and represent Australia at Eurovision. Huge shout out to my people Jonas Myrin, Ferras Alqaisi & the rest of the dream team who made this possible"
He is signed to Universal Music Publishing worldwide in conjunction with Swedish-based publisher The Kennel, and has built a strong international career across pop, dance, film, television and contemporary Christian music.
Michael has worked with a long list of Australian and New Zealand artists, including Jessica Mauboy, Stan Walker, Jai Waetford, The McClymonts and Isaiah Firebrace.
Eurovision fans will recognise Isaiah as Australia’s 2017 representative, while Jessica represented Australia the following year in Lisbon.
He also wrote the debut EP Evie Iris, who competed at Eurovision - Australia Decides in 2022.
His international credits include releases with R3HAB, Chung Ha, Walk Off The Earth, Lukas Graham, Goodboys, Alok, Galantis, Jonas Blue, Sam Feldt, Evie Irie, Dillon Francis and others.
He also produced Natasha Bedingfield’s Together In This for the animated film Jungle Beat, and has had music featured across television and screen projects including The Rookie, The Bold Type, The Hills, Love Life, Love Island USA, 90 Day Fiancé, Big Shot, American Idol and promotional material for The L Word: Generation Q.
For Eclipse, his role goes beyond songwriting.
As producer, programmer and backing vocalist, Michael helped shape the final sound of Australia’s 2026 Eurovision entry
Ferras Alqaisi
Ferras Alqaisi, often credited simply as Ferras, is an Jordanian-American singer-songwriter with a long list of pop credits.
He has worked extensively with Katy Perry, including co-writing Bon Appétit, Roulette, Deja Vu, Into Me You See and Cozy Little Christmas.
His credits also include Dua Lipa’s Genesis, Kylie's Hot in December, Adam Lambert’s Aftermath and 2 Fux, and Jessica Mauboy and Stan Walker’s Galaxy.
That Australian connection with Jessica Mauboy and Stan Walker makes him a familiar name around the broader Australian pop world, even before Eclipse.
Ferras also has a direct Eurovision connection.
He co-wrote Iceland’s 2024 entry Scared of Heights, performed by Hera Björk, which competed in Malmö.
That means Eclipse is not his first Eurovision entry, but it is his first time writing for Australia at the contest.
He also shared his excitement on Instagram for Eclipse at Eurovision, saying:
"We’re going to Eurovision baby. Eclipse by Delta Goodrem is out now. Loved writing this with my beautiful friends Delta, Jonas Myrin and Mike Fatkin in Australia last year. ‘Only love exists when we eclipse.’ Let’s do this."
Jonas Myrin
Jonas Myrin is a Swedish singer, songwriter and producer based in Los Angeles.
His credits include songs for Barbra Streisand, Idina Menzel, Andrea Bocelli, Céline Dion, Lauren Daigle, Nicole Scherzinger, John Legend and Tasha Cobbs Leonard.
He is a Grammy Award-winning songwriter, best known for co-writing the worship hit 10,000 Reasons with Matt Redman.
The song won two Grammy Awards in 2013, while Jonas has also won Billboard Music Awards and multiple Dove Awards, with his work spanning pop, worship, film, television and major international releases.
The award nominations continued in 2026, when he was Grammy-nominated for Best Gospel Performance/Song as one of the co-writers of Church, performed by Tasha Cobbs Leonard and John Legend.
It was quite fateful that Jonas and Delta worked together on Eclipse. Writing on his website, he said he reached out to her months before she decided to do Eurovision.
"Back in May 2025, I saw a post on Instagram about a rumour from the UK that Delta Goodrem could represent Australia at the Eurovision Song Contest.
"I had known Delta for a few years already. She had been to my house in Los Angeles, and we had written together a couple of times before. So when I saw the post, I sent her a message.
"I simply wrote, “If you end up doing Eurovision, we have to write the song."
"At the time, nothing was confirmed. It was just a ‘dream thought’ from the tabloids. But the idea stayed there. Then, a few months later, in November, she replied."
He co-wrote several songs for Barbra Streisand’s 2018 album Walls, including Don’t Lie to Me, What’s On My Mind, The Rain Will Fall and Better Angels.
He also co-wrote Gloria the Gift of Life for Andrea Bocelli’s album Sì, which reached No.1 in both the United States and the United Kingdom.
For Eclipse, Jonas adds a big emotional songwriting background to the team, with a career built on sweeping melodies, spiritual intensity and songs designed to connect with large audiences.
He's also more than happy to be repreenting Australia writing on his site:
"I still smile about it… a Swedish guy representing Australia at Eurovision. Somewhere ABBA must be smiling. I love Australia, and with so many close friends there, I feel like an honorary Aussie now."
