We profile the 2026 entry from Sweden including details on the artist, song, how it was chosen, odds, fan reaction and how the nation has fared at Eurovision.
With seven Eurovision victories under their belt and a reputation for delivering polished, contemporary pop, the Scandinavian powerhouse remains one of the Contest’s most consistent performers.
Sweden’s first win came in 1974 with ABBA’s Waterloo, a victory that propelled the group onto the global stage. The nation’s success has continued over the decades, with Sweden now equalling Ireland as the standout performers with the most Eurovision wins.
Speaking about records, Sweden’s Loreen became only the second performer in history (and the first female artist) to taste Eurovision glory twice - first with Euphoria in 2012, and again with Tattoo in 2023.
Legendary performer Carola became a Eurovision staple across three appearances (1983, 1991 and 2006), ultimately winning the Contest in 1991 with Fångad av en stormvind.
Earlier era triumphs from The Herreys (Diggi-Loo Diggi-Ley, 1984) and Charlotte Perrelli (Take Me to Your Heaven, 1999) further cemented Sweden’s status as a Eurovision heavyweight.
Meanwhile, Måns Zelmerlöw delivered a modern Eurovision classic with Heroes, securing Sweden’s sixth victory in 2015.
Flying the Swedish flag at Eurovision 2026 in Vienna - and hoping to add a record-breaking 8th Eurovision title - is FELICIA with her song My System.

About the artist
Felicia Agneta Eriksson, born in Tullinge, Sweden in 2001, first gained widespread recognition in Sweden under her former stage name Fröken Snusk (English: Miss Dirty). Fröken Snusk became a rising star within the country’s EPA-dunk and party-pop scene under the guidance of songwriter/producer Rasmus Gozzi.
Known for her iconic pink balaclava that concealed her face for all public appearances due to experiencing severe social anxiety since childhood, Fröken Snusk quickly built a strong fanbase and achieved significant streaming success, particularly among younger audiences.
Under the Fröken Snusk persona, Felicia competed in Melodifestivalen 2024 with the song Unga & fria, narrowly missing the Grand Final after finishing 3rd in the Final Qualification round.
Impressed with her live vocals, it didn’t take long for Swedish television to come calling, resulting in an appearance on Masked Singer Sverige in May 2024 which she ultimately won.
After a tumultuous period with Gozzi enduring difficult working conditions, Felicia was replaced as the original Fröken Snusk in April 2025. Transitioning to perform simply as solo artist Felicia (stylised as FELICIA), she has since evolved her musical identity, moving toward a more polished electronic pop sound while maintaining the mysterious personality that first drew listeners to her work.
FELICIA’s debut single performing under her own moniker was Black Widow, with the song landing at a respectable number 14 on the Swedish charts.
Now, a mere 12 months into her artistic reinvention, FELICIA has a convincing Melodifestivalen victory under her belt, winning both the public and international jury votes. She has now earned the opportunity to represent Sweden at Eurovision 2026 with My System.
About the song
My System is a sleek electro-pop infused techno track driven by pulsing synths and club-inspired production.
Penned by a team of Norwegian, Danish and Swedish songwriters including Felicia herself (including Audun Agnar, Emily Harbakk, Julie Bergan, and Theresa Rex), the track actually holds the title for the most number of foreign songwriters on a Melodifestivalen entry.
It’s no surprise then that the single debuted at number one in Sweden upon release.
Beginning its life during an international songwriting session in Iceland, the song explores emotional dependency and the lingering impact of a relationship that becomes impossible to fully escape.
The verses build tension before releasing into an energetic, hook-driven chorus, with a drop that has fans raving about the simple brilliance of the track.
While Sweden is often associated with polished mainstream pop, My System leans into a slightly darker sonic palette, with FELICIA blending a more introspective and vulnerable style of storytelling with massive dancefloor energy.
Put simply, My System is a song that sounds both familiar yet fresh at the same time, intertwining classic Euro-EDM beats with a polished production firmly cemented in modern rave culture.
How was FELICIA chosen for Eurovision?
FELICIA earned the Eurovision ticket by winning Melodifestivalen 2026, Sweden’s long-running national selection format.
After convincingly winning Heat 2 in Gothenberg with a performance and staging that captivated viewers, FELICIA made her way to the Grand Final. Pushing through an illness she had struggled with in the leadup to the final in Stockholm, FELICIA was able to repeat her impressive performance, with My System emerging as the overall winner.
Her performance topped the leaderboard with both the public vote and international jury with a total of 161 points.
Speaking after her victory, FELICIA described representing Sweden at Eurovision as a “dream come true,” noting the Contest’s importance in Swedish music culture and her desire to deliver a performance that feels both modern and authentic.
"My goal is to do my best and try to make history... I'm so happy. I'm so grateful and I'm going to f**k Eurovision up"
Sweden will compete in the first semi-final of the 2026 Eurovision Song Contest on 12 May 2026 in Vienna.
