Aussie fans have yet again made the Top 10 of fans buying tickets for Eurovision.
Eurovision organisers revealed today that fans from over 70 countries will be in the Vienna crowd.
Coming out on top were hosts Austria, neighbours Germany were next, with UK fans rounding out the top three.
Australia came in 7th place, one place higher than last year's 8th place.
Outside of Europe, the United States pipped Australia in 5th place.
The Top 10 are:
1. Austria
2. Germany
3. United Kingdom
4. Switzerland
5. United States
6. France
7. Australia
8. Czechia
9. Slovakia
10. The Netherlands.
Australia has maintained its top 10 position yet again which is a pretty decent effort for fans who need to travel from the other side of the world!
Organisers have confirmed that 95,000 tickets have been sold across nine shows for this year’s Contest.
Host nation Austria accounts for 58% of all tickets sold, although there has still been strong demand from international fans travelling in from across Europe and beyond.
In total, 42% of tickets have been purchased by fans outside the host country.
Beyond the Top 10, organisers revealed fans are making the journey from countries including Brazil, Mexico, Japan, South Africa and New Zealand.
There will also be representation from countries such as the Solomon Islands, Paraguay and Sri Lanka.
Eurovision Song Contest Director Martin Green CBE said, “What makes the Eurovision Song Contest so special is the way it brings people together, United by Music, and these figures really bring that to life.”
He added, “To see fans travelling from more than 70 countries - from across Europe and as far away as New Zealand, the Americas and beyond - is incredible.”
He also said, “The Eurovision Song Contest isn’t just watched globally - it’s experienced globally.”
Executive Producer for ORF Michael Krön added, “Welcoming fans from more than 70 countries to Vienna highlights the extraordinary reach and enduring significance of the Eurovision Song Contest.”
