We profile the 2025 entry from Lithuania, including details on the artist, song, how it was chosen, odds, fan reaction, and how the nation has fared at Eurovision.
Lithuania made its Eurovision debut in 1994 with Ovidijus Vyšniauskas' Lopšinė mylimai, but the entry placed last receiving zero points. Following this result, Lithuania withdrew from the competition and did not return until 1999. The country's best placement so far came in 2006 when LT United's We Are the Winners secured sixth place. Lithuania has reached the top ten on two other occasions: in 2016, when Donny Montell's I've Been Waiting for This Night finished ninth, and in 2021, when The Roop's Discoteque took eighth place.

About the Song
Tavo Akys (Your Eyes) is an alternative rock song performed in Lithuanian and written by Lukas Radzevičius and produced by Jurgis Masilionis. The song was officially released on January 31, 2025.
Lead singer Radzevičius says the song is an observation about relationships -
(It's) the most pompous song in our band’s work, maybe somewhat aggressive compared to the others, but we thought that it would be the right song [for Eurovision], with its alternative character, which may be over the top, but is of a high quality
How were Katarsis chosen for Eurovision?
'Eurovizija.LT 2025' was the national selection process organized by LRT to choose Lithuania's entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2025. The competition ran from January 11 to February 15, featuring 45 entries across five semi-finals with the grand final taking place on February 15.
A combination of jury and public voting (50/50) determined the results at each stage. The top two acts from each semi-final advanced to the final, where the top three entries progressed to a televote-based superfinal to determine the winner.
On December 11, 2024, Katarsis was announced as one of the 45 contestants, competing with their song Tavo akys. The song advanced through the semi-final stage on February 1, 2025, securing a place in the final two weeks later. During the final, Tavo akys ranked among the top three entries with the highest jury and public votes, earning a spot in the superfinal. Ultimately, the televote crowned it the winner, making it Lithuania's representative for Eurovision 2025 in Basel.
Lithuania will compete in the Second Semi-Final of the 2025 Eurovision Song Contest on 15 May 2025 in Basel.
