Eurovision 2024: Aussievision team's semi-final predictions

With the 2024 Eurovision Song Contest just over a month away, we're now in those strange few weeks between the national final season and the beginning of first rehearsals.

Whilst some artists have given us a glimpse of their live vocals at the various Eurovision pre-parties, for other acts we'll have to wait until rehearsals begin in Malmö next month.

Based on everything we've seen so far, sixteen Aussievision contributors from across Australia and the Asia Pacific have each chosen their 10 qualifiers and we've tallied up the totals for an overall Aussievision team prediction.

Semi-final 1

The 10 acts the Aussievision team has collectively picked to qualify from semi-final 1 are:

(The percentage of team members picking that nation in brackets)

Croatia - (100%)

Ukraine - (100%)

Lithuania - (100%)

Luxembourg - (94%)

Australia - (94%)

Slovenia - (88%)

Finland - (81%)

Cyprus - (81%)

Poland - (81%)

Serbia - (56%)

With the following five entries missing out:

Portugal - (50%)

Ireland - (31%)

Iceland - (25%)

Azerbaijan - (20%)

Moldova - (0%)

Semi-final 2

The 10 acts the Aussievision team has collectively predicted to qualify from semi-final 2 are:

(The percentage of team members picking that nation in brackets)

Netherlands - (100%)

Switzerland - (100%)

Greece - (100%)

Belgium - (94%)

Norway - (94%)

Armenia - (81%)

Austria - (75%)

Israel - (69%)

Estonia - (69%)

Denmark - (63%)

With the following six entries missing out:

Latvia - (50%)

Georgia - (44%)

Malta - (25%)

Czechia - (19%)

San Marino - (13%)

Albania - (6%)

How accurate will these predictions be? Last year the team collectively had a 90% success rate, so many picks may be right but there's usually always one or two surprises!
