Daniel Kajmakoski, who represented North Macedonia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2015, has been the victim of a shocking kidnapping in Serbia.

The incident took place in Belgrade near the Beton Hala area after the singer had finished a performance.

Serbian media report that two men intercepted Daniel while he was inside his car and forced their way into the vehicle.

The attackers restrained him, bound his hands, and drove off in his own car.

While holding him captive, the kidnappers allegedly demanded a ransom of around €20,000.

Kidnapping rescue

Police were alerted shortly after the abduction and began tracking the vehicle.

Officers intercepted the car during a pursuit on the road towards Ruma.

The kidnappers abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot, leaving the singer tied up inside.

Police freed the singer at the scene and transported him for medical assessment.

In comments reported by Serbian media, Daniel’s wife said he is alive, safe, and recovering, but the family is under severe stress.

She added that he cannot speak publicly about the incident while the investigation continues.

Serbian authorities have confirmed the case is being treated as a kidnapping, with an investigation ongoing.
