Duncan Laurence releases new song for 'Love, Victor', as ‘Arcade’ surpasses 400 million streams

Eurovision 2019 winner Duncan Laurence has released a new song ‘Heaven Is A Hand To Hold’ for season two of 'Love, Victor' as the singer-songwriter reaches a new milestone with his Eurovision winning song 'Arcade' surpassing 400 million streams.



'Love, Victor' is a teen comedy-drama within the "Simonverse" based on the 2018 film 'Love, Simon'. 'Love, Simon' the film is based on the book, 'Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda' by Becky Albertalli. It is about how Simon, a closeted gay high school boy, struggles to balance his friends, his family, and a blackmailer threatening to out him to the entire school, while simultaneously attempting to discover the identity of the anonymous classmate with whom he has fallen in love online.


‘Heaven Is A Hand To Hold’ is part of the original soundtrack for season 2 of 'Love, Victor' the soundtrack features many artists including FLETCHER who released a duet version of 'Arcade' with Duncan back in November 2020.


'Love, Victor' is out in the US now on Hulu. The new series is set to be released in the UK, Australia Canada, Ireland and New Zealand on Disney+ on June 18. You can catch Season 1 on there now.


In other news, it has only been eight weeks since Duncan Laurence's 'Arcade' passed 300 million streams on Spotify, the Eurovision winning song has now clocked up another 100 million streams on Spotify to now amass over 400 million Spotify streams.



Back in April ‘Arcade’ hit the US Billboard Hot 100, the first time a Eurovision song has featured in the chart on over 24 years since Gina G’s ‘Oh Ahh Just a Little Bit…’ peaked at No. 12 in 1997. Since then the Eurovision 2019 winning song has peaked at No. 78 on the US Billboard Hot 100.



Duncan Laurence won the Eurovision Song Contest in 2019 in Tel Aviv, Israel, with a spectacular and emotional performance of ‘Arcade’ representing the Netherlands. His win gave the Netherlands their fifth Eurovision win.


In May this year at the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 Grand Final in Rotterdam Duncan Laurence was the interval act in the show and got to perform his Eurovision winning song 'Arcade', he also premiered a new song 'Stars' which features in a deluxe release of Duncan's debut album 'Small Town Boy'.
