WRS to represent Romania with 'Llámame' at Eurovision 2022

After an "interesting" few weeks of Selecția Națională the competition draws to a close with WRS taking top honours with 'Llámame' to represent Romania at Eurovision 2022. After a mildly controversial semi final, WRS proceeded to the grand final and took second with the televote behind Dora Gaitanovici but narrowly won out the juries to take the overall crown.

'Llámame' is a ethnic inspired pop song and WRS brought the most eye-catching and choreographed staging of the night. The entry is predominantly in English with Spanish feature lyrics. Andrei Ionuț Ursu, known professionally as WRS, hails from the South-Easten Romanian town of Buzău. At 29-year-olds old he will now represent Romania at Eurovision. WRS has multiple successful singles including 'Why', 'Amore' and 'Tsunami' that have charted successfully locally and in Bulgaria.

A number of this years Eurovision entrants also performed during the evening: Intelligent Music Project (Bulgaria), Zdob și Zdub (Moldova), Vladana (Montenegro), Andrea (North Macedonia), Ronela Hajati (Albania), We Are Domi (Czech Republic) and Stefan (Estonia) performed their Eurovision entries.

In addition, Eurovision 2016 winner Jamala sung another poignant and heartfelt performance of '1944'. The pain and heart-break in her performance was palpable.
