In breaking news that will come as a surprise to Eurovision fans, Dami Im has revealed tonight Australian time that she won’t be heading back to Eurovision in 2026.
The 2016 Eurovision runner-up has officially ruled herself out as Australia’s next representative, revealing the news via social media.
“Spoiler alert… you can rule me out 😂 I’ve got my hands full with my baby Rory…” Dami wrote.
The singer welcomed her son Rory last year and made it clear that motherhood is currently her top priority.
Fans across Australia and abroad were hoping that Dami would return to represent Australia for the 10 year anniversary since her Eurovision debut in 2016 with Sound of Silence, where she achieved our best ever result of 2nd place.
A special Eurovision anniversary release
While Eurovision 2026 is off the table, Dami will still be celebrating this major milestone in her Eurovision journey.
To mark 10 years since the release of her iconic Eurovision entry Sound of Silence, Dami is dropping a very special anniversary version of the song, this time featuring fellow Eurovision artists Electric Fields.
“I will be celebrating my 10 year Eurovision anniversary with a very special release of Sound of Silence featuring the phenomenal Electric Fields”
The track will be released on Wednesday March 11, exactly 10 years to the day Sound of Silence was originally released.
So who will represent Australia in Vienna now?
We know that an artist announcement is imminent, but for what it's worth, Dami has suggested that she'd love to see Delta Goodrem flying the flag for Australia in Vienna this year.
Who do you want to see represent Australia now that Dami is out of the running?
