Bulgaria: Intelligent Music Project release 'Intention' their Eurovision 2022 entry

Bulgaria has started the Eurovision season with a bang!

Rock supergroup Intelligent Music Project have released their song ‘Intention’, Bulgaria’s entry for the 2022 Eurovision Song Contest which will be held in Turin, Italy in May 2022.

The song is in keeping with Intelligent Music Project’s regular heartfelt classic rock vibe.

The groups member line-up features Ronnie Romero, Bisser Ivanov, Slavin Slavchev (the winner of X-Factor Bulgaria), Ivo Stefanov, Dimiter Sirakov and drummer Stoyan Yankoulov.

'Intention' was released on the Bulgarian morning tv show ‘Denyat zapochva s Georgi Lyubenov’ (The day begins with Georgi Lyubenov) on Bulgaria’s national broadcaster BNT1 on December 5 (at 5pm AEDT Australian time).

The modestly named Intelligent Music Project was first established in 2010 featuring several well-known names within the rock music industry. The band has a revolving door of members and collaborators from across the world, making their sound ever changing and evolving with each incarnation.

Drummer Stoyan Yankoulov is no stranger to the Eurovision stage, having participated with vocalist Elitsa in 2007, finishing in 5th and then again in 2013, unfortunately missing out on the Grand Final.

With Bulgaria currently on a hot streak at Eurovision ever since Poli Genova scored 4th place in 2016, fans have high expectations for the 2022 Contest.

Bulgaria made their debut at Eurovision back in 2005, and have qualified for the Grand Final on five occasions (2007, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2021), with three top five results.

In 2017, Kristian Kostov achieved their best ever result with his song ‘Beautiful Mess’, which finished in 2nd place with 615 points.
