Jael Wena, Australia's 2018 Junior Eurovision representative, is set to appear with her family in the inaugural season of Channel 7's 'The Voice Generations'.
In this world-first special edition of the series, families, friends, neighbours and even students and teachers team up to perform in a series of blind auditions and battles to claim their place in the Grand Finale.
In a preview video released by Channel 7, 16 year old Jael can be seen on stage with her parents David and Rebekah, and three younger siblings. Performing on keyboard and vocals, David is a professional musician and sound engineer producer who has his own studio at the family home. Jael's younger brother is on drums and Rebekah, Jael and her two younger sisters are on vocals.
At just 12 years old, Jael finished third for Australia at Junior Eurovision 2018 with her song 'Champion', the equal highest finish for Australia after Isabella Clarke's 3rd place in 2017. You can check out Jael's performance in Belarus below:
Since her appearance at Junior Eurovision, Jael has gone on to make the semi-finals of 'Australia’s Got Talent' in 2019 and also sang the National Anthem at the 2021 A-League Soccer Grand Final. She has also been a presenter on children's television channel ABC ME and been busy releasing covers of songs from various artists on YouTube, including ‘Husavik’ from the Eurovision movie, 'Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga'.
'The Voice Generations' will premiere on Channel 7 on Monday January 31 with coaches Keith Urban, Rita Ora, and Australia Eurovision royalty Guy Sebastian and Jessica Mauboy, all returning for the series.
We look forward to seeing if this super talented family can make it all the way to the Grand Finale!
