After seeing both semi-finals plus the big 4 (plus host) performances, members of the Aussievision team have made predictions on their Top 3 for the Eurovision 2026 Grand Final and a further prediction on some of the other results.

We've gone to the team in a random order:

Cooper

Top 3 prediction

1st - Australia: Delta Goodrem - Eclipse

2nd - Finland: Linda Lampenius & Pete Parkkonen - Liekinheitin

3rd - Israel: Noam Bettan - Michelle

Comments:

I genuinely believe this is the year Australia finally wins the Eurovision Song Contest. We have a great spot in the running order where others have managed to win many times in recent history. I’m predicting a Jury win and hopefully a sizeable lead at that and a respectable top 5 public score too.

 Further predictions:

UK is gonna be seeing another 0 points coming their way 3 years in a row.

Hayley

Top 3 prediction:

1st - Australia: Delta Goodrem - Eclipse

2nd - Finland: Linda Lampenius & Pete Parkkonen - Liekinheitin

3rd - Moldova: Satoshi - Viva, Moldova!

Comments:

It is written in the moon, the stars and every other sky/atmospheric reference I can come up with here. Our golden girl has the goods: vocals, stage presence, experience, staging, dress, devoted fans, jury love and that amazing WOW moment. And best of all, she is going to shock us when the televote is high enough to get her to take out the trophy! I am thinking from the perspective of a casual viewer, and she is going to impress!

Moldova to take out the televote - Vienna is going to go nuts for Satoshi and its VERY deserved!!

Further predictions:

  • Australia's 12 jury points to Finland or Denmark.

  • The following are dark horses: Romania, Serbia, Croatia and Norway

  • Top 10 for both Romania and Croatia.

  • Germany NOT last this year (left hand side of board)!

  • Sweden to finish outside of the top 10.

  • UK are getting points this year (cos I am voting for them - HA!)

  • Greece saves Cyprus from last place.

  • France bombs in the televote.

Sam

Top 3 prediction:

1st - Finland: Linda Lampenius & Pete Parkkonen - Liekinheitin

2nd - Israel: Noam Bettan - Michelle

3rd - Australia: Delta Goodrem - Eclipse

Comments:

I’m thoroughly delighted Delta has eclipsed my concerns and is doing an incredible job at Eurovision. Whilst I now believe she will win the jury vote, I’m still not convinced that she will do that well with the tele-vote given Australian and female acts often struggle. My guess is she will do an Austria 2018 by winning the jury and getting enough tele-votes to end up in third place. If by a miracle she wins, she will be the earliest performing winner since 2003 (8 is my lucky number so let’s hope this luck transfers to her).

Israel will do well in the tele-vote as they have done for several years now. Given they are being represented by a man with an up-tempo song this year, this may make viewers even more inclined to vote for them. The juries will still mark them down, especially the 18 to 25 year old jurors. The tele-vote runners-up came from position 3 last year, and I believe Israel will do one better.

Whilst my heart wants to put Australia or Greece as the winner, I must not be clouded by sentiment like the last two years, and am going with my head that Finland will win. As I’ve said from the beginning of the season I still see it as the only entry that has both significant jury and tele-vote appeal – and it’s still a chance to win the juries. The icing on the cake for Finland is many of its main competitors (Australia, Denmark, Greece and Israel) are in the first half. 17 was also the position Lordi performed in when they won Eurovision 2006. There is also an It’s Time factor that after several close misses, and several strong UMK line ups, it is finally Finland’s time for glory.

Further predictions:

  • United Kingdom to get nul puan in the tele-vote for the third successive year.

  • Czechia to also score nul puan in the tele-vote.

  • Italy to retain its streak of every entry with a male lead vocalist placing in the top 7 this century.

  • Romania and Croatia to be dark horses for Top 5 and Top 10 respectively.

  • This one is dedicated to Kyriakos and Cooper because there is both money and pride on the line: Sweden. to miss the left-hand side of the scoreboard, but will still out-perform Germany in the tele-vote and overall.

Paul

1st - Greece: Akylas – Ferto

2nd - France: Monroe – Regarde!

3rd - Australia: Delta Goodrem - Eclipse

Comments:

I can see Greece winning the entire thing. There’s just been this amazing groundswell for it since the first semi-final. Akylas was charming in that performance and it was the right balance of camp, outrageousness, and sincerity that can capture both Eurovision juries and televoter. That, and it’s about time those ‘crazy-and-kooky-man’ songs finally after being heavily featured in the past few Eurovision editions, and Ferto is the one out of all of them that was the best performed and sung.

Monroe will win the jury vote – that performance was note-perfect, like JJ’s was last year. There is this sweet innocence mixed in with the powerful vocal that makes this a compelling watch, for both jury and televote. It will be pipped at the post by Greece because it will receive less than 120 televotes.

Delta will have a Dami-like result and end up in third – second in the jury behind Monroe and gain just under 100 points in the televote. In terms of singing and aura goes, Delta has it all – and it was on full display in the second semi-final. While Eclipse may charm the juries, it’ll be an uphill battle to charm the televoters in the same way, despite everything that Delta is throwing at it.

Further predictions:

  • The Finnish song will just finish outside the top 5. There was something cold and lacklustre about the performance that holds it back from being a winner.

  • I think every song in the final will get points – there will be no “nul points” this year!

  • Italy will finish either in the top five OR the bottom five – there is no in-between with that song and performance. Poland and Moldova will finish in the top 10.

  • Denmark and Sweden will finish just outside of it.

1st - Greece: Akylas – Ferto

2nd - Australia: Delta Goodrem - Eclipse

3rd - Finland: Linda Lampenius & Pete Parkkonen - Liekinheitin

Comments:

I think Greece will score enough the juries and then romp it in the televote. Many of their voting buddies were not in semi-final 1 and with a large diaspora. It may help them get over the line. Ferto!!!

Australia will get an amazing jury score but may struggle in the televote. Delta is a fantastic vocalist but is her performance and staging going to sway the public? I really hope so but I feel that there are a few more entries that the public will warm to more.

Finland is probably the most professional looking package we have this year. Their spot in the running order is better than some of the other strong contenders and also Lordi and Loreen won from 17. Don’t discount this one, but I am not sure how the juries will treat this with so many strong vocalists in contention.

Further predictions:

My dark horse is Bulgaria for a top 5 finish. This should do well with both the juries and public. They have a sweet spot in the running order and will stand out among the other performances around them.

Last place for Germany - look it is catchy enough and Sarah sells it. However, the song is weak. Juries won’t be frothing over it and who is really going to vote for it? Spot 2 in the running order doesn’t help either.

Emma

1st - Australia: Delta Goodrem - Eclipse

2nd - Finland: Linda Lampenius & Pete Parkkonen - Liekinheitin

3rd - Romania: Alexandra Căpitănescu – Choke Me

Comments:

For me it’s either going to Finland or Australia and I’m going out on a limb to predict Australia because of course that is what I would love to happen! Both would be worthy winners. Finland has arguably the better running position but is surrounded by other jury friendly songs with France two places before it and Poland directly after.

Australia stands out more between Ukraine and Serbia and may shine even more if Ukraine doesn’t nail the vocals. I am also feeling like all the hype is around Australia at the moment, particularly from many European based media who are actually on the ground in Vienna. Whether this transforms in to votes remains to be seen but at least we should win or come very close to winning the jury vote.

Romania is my surprise pick for third. Performing second last and going directly after Norway is only going to elevate this even further. They’ve nailed everything about this performance and Alexandra shows off the versatility of her range perfectly. It’s great to see Romania back at Eurovision and they could be on track to equal their best ever result.

Further predictions:

  • Moldova to receive more televote than Greece. I feel Greece may be forgotten going so early in the line up and Moldova has more instant appeal to the casual once a year viewer.

  • Bulgaria to finish Top 5 – here’s how to stage a high energy dance number.

  • I hate to say it but unfortunately I see a last place finish for the United Kingdom. With limited jury appeal they’re going for the televote but there’s not enough instant appeal here to convince the casual fan to vote for them.

1st - Finland: Linda Lampenius & Pete Parkkonen - Liekinheitin

2nd - Australia: Delta Goodrem - Eclipse

3rd - Israel: Noam Bettan - Michelle

Comments:

In a year where so many countries are chasing either the jury vote or the public vote, sometimes the obvious answer is the right one. For me, that is Finland. They may not dominate either side, but they feel like the one entry best placed to get solid points from both juries and the public, and that could be enough to scrape over the line.

I have Australia second because if Delta can land a huge jury score and pick up enough public support, she can go very close. The last two winners have come from jury winners, but this feels like a very different year, and it may not be the runaway jury result Australia needs. Delta has been absolutely incredible, and the fact we are even talking about Australia as a potential Eurovision winner is unbelievable. I really hope I am wrong and she gets it over the line, but wherever she finishes, I am so proud.

Israel is guaranteed a big public vote. Even a smattering of jury points should put it right up there, and in a smaller year, that could easily be enough for the top three.

Further predictions:

  • Bulgaria could be the surprise package, doing well enough on both sides to reach the top 10 and maybe even push the top five.

  • Moldova feels due a big public vote.

  • Czechia should get a strong jury score but may struggle more with the public.

  • Albania could also surprise. It has a universal message and, if executed well, can be quite touching in the running order.

  • At the bottom, I think Austria, Germany and the UK could be fighting it out for last place, with the real possibility of more than one double zero. They all have something that could grab a point or two, but we may be looking at single digits. That said, I do think the UK has put together a really intriguing entry that I quite like, and I’m a little afraid for it.

1st - Finland: Linda Lampenius & Pete Parkkonen - Liekinheitin

2nd - France: Monroe – Regarde!

3rd - Australia: Delta Goodrem - Eclipse

Comments:

As exciting and magical as a breakthrough win for Delta and Australia could be, the realist in me still believes this year's contest is Finland's to lose. Barring a broken violin string or something whack happening to Linda and Pete, it will be a 20-years-since-we-won celebration to remember for the Finns, and I expect them and Lordi to lead a wild party into the early hours in Vienna.

And even though opera fatigue could be real, I still think everyone is sleeping on France's Monroe and the magical straight-out-of-the-theatre performance she's put together. To avoid setting vibes for another runner-up finish for Australia or Israel, I'm putting her in second.

Further predictions:

  • Public vote winner: Greece or Israel.

  • Jury vote winner: Australia.

  • Surprise top 10: Romania and/or Czechia surprise.

  • Flop: Either Italy or Sweden (or both), normally top 10 regulars, to miss for this first time in ages.

  • Romania and Moldova to break through and take their spots.

  • Also, Denmark's opening slot has killed their chances of winning, so I expect them to underperform based on their prior favouritism. However, they'll still get a respectable finish on the left hand side of the scoreboard.

  • Last: Austria or Germany.

  • UK to get a couple of points from the public, but probably finish bottom five overall.

Srdjan

1st - Finland: Linda Lampenius & Pete Parkkonen - Liekinheitin

2nd - Australia: Delta Goodrem - Eclipse

3rd - Israel: Noam Bettan - Michelle

I think Finland will be a compromise winner where they get 2nd with the jury and 3rd or 4th with the televote to take out the overall contest.

Further comments:

  1. UK or Belgium to come last.

  2. Albania top 10.

  3. France to miss the top 10 (yes I said it).

1st - Australia: Delta Goodrem - Eclipse

2nd - Finland: Linda Lampenius & Pete Parkkonen - Liekinheitin

3rd - Greece: Akylas – Ferto

Delta is gaining momentum with each performance, and peaking exactly when she needs to. Following the recent trend of the jury winner taking out the whole show (and make no mistake, Delta WILL win the jury vote) I can’t see anything but Eurovision glory for our queen.

Finland will be our only challenger. I have adored this song all season, but right when it counts, a bit of viewer fatigue is setting in. Their best hope to win? Fresh eyes tuning in and being wowed by the song and the staging for the first time.

Greece will sure have to be the true televote winner on the night, right? How can it not when it’s pure mad energy jammed into a joyous 3 minutes? But is 30 seconds of vocal balladry enough to woo juries and elevate Greece to victory though?

Further predictions:

  • Austria’s definitely finishing last on nul points.

  • Denmark won’t make the top 10, been saying it all season long.

  • Romania’s chances are over-inflated, family audiences won’t vote for Choke Me.

Liv

1st - Finland: Linda Lampenius & Pete Parkkonen - Liekinheitin

2nd - Bulgaria - Dara - Bangaranga

3rd - Israel: Noam Bettan - Michelle

On a pure numbers level, Finland is simply the only song this year that fulfils the criteria of getting large triple-digit results from both the televote and juries. It would be a great legacy winner for the contest and it pops in the running order.

Bulgaria has an entry that not only can turn a juror's head, but also the televoters of the east and the west. In a year with many Eastern European nations returning this WILL absolutely devour the scoreboard. She is killing it on YouTube and Spotify after her semi-final.

Israel will get a strong televote and their jury performance was consistent; it won't be surprising to see them finish on the podium again.

Further predictions:

  • I believe Australia is on for a very strong Top 10 finish and we should be incredibly proud of that result.

  • I can see Moldova getting third in the televote for a mid-top 10 finish, it has the best reception in the crowd every night and converts perfectly down the camera. The juries will hold back on this compared to Bulgaria which will limit it's ceiling.

  • I predict Poland having a surprisingly strong jury result, placing them in at least the top 5 of the juries come the end of the point wash out, with a decent televote I can see them rounding out the top 10.

Rebecca

1st - Finland: Linda Lampenius & Pete Parkkonen - Liekinheitin

2nd - Australia: Delta Goodrem - Eclipse

3rd - Israel: Noam Bettan - Michelle

Australia will win the jury, Israel will win the televote. Finland will do well in both and slide into the victory.

Further predictions:

  • Last place: Belgium or Austria.

  • Nobody will get 0 overall.

  • Greece and France will finish outside the top 10.

Kyriakos

1st - Australia: Delta Goodrem - Eclipse

2nd - Finland: Linda Lampenius & Pete Parkkonen - Liekinheitin

3rd - Greece: Akylas – Ferto

Comments

I see Australia winning the jury, Israel will win the televote (but Australia will finish within the Top 5). Because of the large jury score, Delta takes it out.

Further predictions:

  • Bulgaria and Moldova will finish in top 5.

  • Greece and Czechia will finish in top 10.

  • UK will finish last.
