Which countries are most interested in Eurovision 2026?

We look at Google search data to see which countries are showing the most interest in Eurovision 2026.


With an audience of hundreds of millions, the Eurovision Song Contest has a mass interest not just in Europe, but worldwide.


However, each year, some countries take even more of an interest than normal, particularly if they have a chance of doing well.


This year, we also have the complexity of nations boycotting who have previously


So which nations are most interested in Eurovision 2026, and have boycotts influenced this?


Luckily, there is a way we can measure this through Google Trends.for


Google Trends tracks how much people search content related to Eurovision and produces a score based on a per capita basis.


So who has been most interested in Eurovision in the last 30 days?


Let's take a look at the Top 20 rankings:



(Ranking in brackets is where the nation was in the Top 20 when we did the article in April last year).

  3. Austria [18]

  4. Malta [2]

  5. Greece [9]

  6. Lithuania [7]

  7. Israel [17]

  8. Estonia [4]

  11. Croatia [10]

  12. Latvia [15]

  13. Norway [14]

  14. Serbia [-]

Cyprus leads with the local population clearly getting behind Antigoni and her entry Jalla.


Finland is always high, and with a chance to win is no surprise in 2nd place. Host nation Austria follows in 3rd with Malta and Greece rounding out the Top 5.


A notable presence is many of the Eastern European nations, with Moldova's return getting interest alongside Serbia, Montenegro and Armenia. Romania just missed the list in 21st.


Boycotting nations


Iceland is the only boycotting nation in this top 20. The nation has a strong interest in Eurovision, and with its small population, it usually finishes 1st or close to 1st in this per capita ranking each year.


For 2026, they are in 10th.


Spain and the Netherlands were both in the Top 20 last year, in 11th and 16th, respectively. This year, Spain is in 33rd, and the Netherlands is 30th.


Ireland comes in at No.31 and Slovenia No.25.


Australia and the rest of the world.


Australia ranks 39th which is the same position it was in last year. It is ahead of nations such as Czechia, Russia, Slovakia, Hungary and Turkiye.


Outside of Europe, New Zealand is in 45th, Canada 46th and the United States 49th.


The Philippines is the best of Asia in 50th, with South Korea, Malaysia and Vietnam following.


Big 4 nations


Of the big 4 nations, Germany is in 24th (27th in 2025), Italy 26th (33rd in 2025), UK 28th (same as 2025) and France 38th (35th last year).
