Eurovision 2026 is just weeks away but before we get to the main event, we have the all-important rehearsals.

There are two sets of rehearsals in the lead-up to Eurovision week.

First rehearsals (around 30 minutes per act) are the first time artists use the Eurovision stage, focusing on testing staging, lighting, camera angles and props through multiple stop-start run-throughs with technical adjustments.

In recent years, photographs have been shared alongside a Reddit threat from the official Eurovision account.

Second rehearsals (around 20 minutes per act) are more polished, usually featuring one or two full run-throughs with minimal interruptions, refining vocals, camera work and overall performance to near broadcast level.

After these rehearsals, short 30 second clips are shared by the official account.

So when will rehearsals begin for Eurovision 2026?

We don't have official news yet, but we have seen a very similar pattern in recent years.

If this is followed, we can expect the following (or very similar):

  • Saturday 2 May: Semi-final 1 first half – first rehearsals

  • Sunday 3 May: Semi-final 1 second half – first rehearsals

  • Monday 4 May: Semi-final 2 first half – first rehearsals

  • Tuesday 5 May: Semi-final 2 second half – first rehearsals (Australia)

  • Wednesday 6 May: Semi-final 1 – second rehearsals

  • Thursday 7 May: Semi-final 2 – second rehearsals first half + Big Five & host – first rehearsals

  • Friday 8 May: Semi-final 2 second half – second rehearsals (Australia)

  • Saturday 9 May: Big Five & host – second rehearsals

Additionally, during Eurovision week, there are full dress rehearsals on the Monday (for semi-final 1) and Wednesday (semi-final 2), which is open for the media.

Aussievision will be on the ground to bring you the latest from those rehearsals.

Full confirmation on the schedule is expected just before they begin later this week.
