Voyager’s Danny Estrin ranks his top 5 songs of Eurovision 2026

Lead singer of Australia’s 2023 entrant Voyager, new co-commentator for SBS and self-proclaimed “cynical, jaded metal musician” Danny Estrin has weighed in on this year’s Eurovision songs.

In a recent video uploaded to SBS On Demand, Danny gave us his top five songs of the year and a few comments about why he loves them.

As a Eurovision veteran and consummate professional, Danny did not include Australia in his rankings for obvious reasons!

5. Felicia - My System (Sweden)

“A trance banger; I just love it (...) I think a lot of people who are tuning into Eurovision for the first time will see this and be like ‘Yeah, this is something we can relate to’ immediately.”

4. LELEK - Andromeda (Croatia)

“How can I describe this? Mystical, pagan, magical, cinematic, epic (…) It gives me chills every time I see it. More pagan mystical ladies please, Eurovision! Can’t go wrong.”

3. Alexandra Căpitănescu - Choke Me (Romania)

“This has got metal-rock energy all over it, and I think if you see the live performance she’s going to do extremely well in this contest.”

2. Bzikebi - On Replay (Georgia)

“I love this for a number of reasons; this is just different! The melodic arrangement is different, it’s a bit more sophisticated but it’s also danceable (...) Not playing it safe and it’s a bit unusual, so good stuff Georgia!”

1. Søren Torpegaard Lund - Før vi går hjem (Denmark)

"This gentleman here I think has what it takes to be Miss Congeniality Eurovision 2026. I saw this and I just loved this immediately. (...) And the performance? So good, absolutely nails it. The song is great, it’s got beautiful melodies, the message is really nice, and he just seems like a genuinely likeable person.”
