Thinla to represent Laos at Eurovision Asia 2026

Thinla will represent Laos at the inaugural Eurovision Song Contest Asia in Bangkok, with the public set to help choose her song later this month.
The Lao artist was confirmed as the country's representative on Sunday, ahead of the national selection Sieng Lao: The One.
The two-night show will take place on Wednesday 23 and Thursday 24 September, but rather than choosing the artist, viewers will now be helping decide which song Thinla takes to Bangkok.
The potential entries will be revealed in the coming days, with fans in Laos and around the world able to have their say.
Who is Thinla?
Formerly known as Thinlamphone, Thinla is a Lao singer whose music combines traditional Morlum with pop, R&B and dance influences.
She has previously toured the United States and represented Laos at the Round Festival in Busan, South Korea. Thinla has also performed at major regional events including the 44th and 45th ASEAN Summits.
Her selection gives Laos an established performer for its first appearance on the Eurovision Asia stage, while Sieng Lao: The One will determine exactly what she performs.
Fifth artist to be chosen for Eurovision Asia
Thinla becomes the fifth artist confirmed for Eurovision Song Contest Asia, following Nyendra for Bhutan, Aina Abdul for Malaysia, Carmelle for the Philippines and JUNHEE for South Korea.
Laos is one of 11 countries taking part in the inaugural contest, alongside Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, Malaysia, Mongolia, Nepal, the Philippines, South Korea, Thailand and Vietnam.
Eurovision Song Contest Asia takes place in Bangkok, Thailand, on Saturday 14 November.
