The date of Australia's Eurovision 2024 artist announcement has been revealed

We have a date!

Slipped into an email to media buyers, Australian broadcaster SBS has revealed the date the 2024 artist will be announced.

The news, discovered by our good friends at Wiwibloggs, is that Wednesday 6 March is the date to be revealed.

The early march announcement is similar to the date Guy Sebastian (5th March), Dami Im (3rd March) and Isaiah Firebrace (7 March) were announced.

Last year, Voyager were announced on 21 February.

There has been much speculation about who may represent Australia at Eurovision. After rumours of Dannii Minogue surfaced, she downplayed them on the Kyle Sandilands and Jackie-O show.

“I don’t know that I would have the strength to get through it. I saw Dami do it, Kate did it bending around on this pole. Like guys, I am 52, I am not a J-Lo at the Superbowl,” she said.

Before concluding: “It’s not there for me in my future,"

Australia will compete in semi-final 1 of Eurovision 2024. See details of our draw here.

So, who should compete for Australia? Well back in June 2023 we put together a top ten after a vote from Eurovision fans, check it out here.
