Tamara Živković wins Montesong and will represent Montenegro at Eurovision 2026

Montenegro hosted the second edition of its Montesong contest early this morning (Aussie time!) to select the country’s representative for Eurovision 2026.

 

Tamara Živković claimed victory with her song Nova Zora, standing out in a competitive lineup of 15 finalists. With this win, she earns the honour of representing Montenegro on the Eurovision stage in Vienna.


Lara Baltić, a fan favourite in the lead-up to the contest, finished in second place with Rhythm Boy.

 

The result was determined by a 50/50 split between a professional jury and public voting.

 

Tamara Živković dominated the competition, taking top honours with the jury and second-place with the public vote. Majda Božović came in second with the jury, and Lara Baltić was the winner in the public vote.

Montenegro has competed at Eurovision 13 times since debuting in 2007, and have failed to qualify every attempt apart from 2014 and 2015 where they placed 19th and 13th respectively. Earlier this year in Basel, Nina Žižić earned Montenegro their worst ever result, finishing in last place in the second semi-final with Dobrodošli, earning just 12 points.
