Romania: Artists announced for Selecţia Naţională 2022

Romanian broadcaster TVR announced today the 45 artists in the running for the Romanian National Final - Selecţia Naţională 2022.

All songs will be available for an online pre-selection between 5 - 12 February, with 20 songs to proceed to the next phase. Of the 20 songs - 15 will be jury selected and 5 will be voted for by locals on the Eurovision Romania Facebook page.

A televised semi-final will follow on 12 February with the selection whittled down to just 10 songs - decided by professional jury. Eventually the winner of Selecţia Naţională and the representative for Romania at Eurovision 2022 will be decided on 5 March at the Grand Final with 50% public and 50% jury vote.

The line up consists of generally fresh names to Selecţia Naţională with a few notable returning artists. Former Eurovision representative Cezar Ouatu will be returning with 'For Everyone' after his notable 13th place with 'It's My Life' at Eurovision in Malmö in 2013.

A strand out catching the online fandom's eye is Letiţia Moisescu who has enjoyed success at the national final attaining 6th in 2011 with 'Dreaming of You' and 5th in 2019 with fan favourite 'Daina'.

Many of the songs have already individually been released for streaming but we anticipate the full national final playlist in the months to come.
