"No matter how much you like Portugal at Eurovision (and I do love Portugal at Eurovision) they still sometimes surprise you with their sheer consistency and success. After years in the trenches batting for Maro, Mimicat and Iolanda against the ire of unsympathetic fans, mediocre poll results and Dale Roberts, I thought that the Iberian nation had finally met their Waterloo with NAPA this year - and yet, they proved me wrong, with possibly their most commercially successful entry this decade! Always surprising, always artistic, always moving - Portugal is the best Eurovision nation of the 2020s in my view, and it's only a matter of time until they get their much-deserved second win." ~Craig
"I recall back in 2021 when a lot of people thought Love is on my side was a non-qualifier and every year since people almost assume that Portugal may not qualify for the Grand Final but every time they have proven everyone wrong. They have stuck to their own formula, stuck to their own identity, and it has paid off. Five qualifications in a row is their longest streak so far! There is an appetite for Portuguese music at Eurovision!" ~Kyriakos
"Portugal resolutely stick to their own taste. Sometimes that aligns with what everybody else is liking and sometimes it stands out like a week-old pastel de nata." ~Troy
"Like Lithuania, I feel Portugal keep quietly doing their thing and are getting some pretty darned impressive results - flying under the radar. I feel Portugal will have another win some time soon." ~Hayley
