With five Eurovision Song Contests completed this decade, how is each nation faring?

In an ongoing series, the Aussievision team will rate the performance of each Eurovision nation in alphabetical order.

We’ll look back at their results from 2021 to 2025, their qualification record, give our team’s rating, and see how they stack up against other countries.

Team rating of The Netherlands: 63.3%

We asked the Aussievision team to rate The Netherlands' Eurovision 2020s entries on a scale of 1 (lowest) to 10 (highest).

This gave us an average overall score from the eight contributors who voted. We then converted that into a percentage.

Netherlands' score was: 63.3%

The scores ranged from a 5/10 to a 7/10, with four members each rating 6 or 7 out of 10.

Meh-therlands. I think they justifiably land middleish of the pack most of the time. Di Diepte is probably the stand out. The more distance I have from Europapa the more and more the novelty factor transitions to a cringe factor. ~ Troy

T"his is a pretty decent list apart from that non-qualification. Personal opinion: Birth of a New Age is criminally underrated and De Diepte absolutely STUNNING. I would love to see Netherlands send more moody Dutch pop artists like S10." ~ Hayley

I would have given the Netherlands a higher rating had Joost Klein never disqualified and competed in the Grand Final. It would take at least three to five years for the country to recover from one of the worst moments not just in their country's history, but also Eurovision history as a whole. ~ John Christian.

The Netherlands have built themselves a very good reputation in recent times. You know you’re going to get a quality entry that will be familiar and safe whilst also pushing for something different. Whilst results have been mixed, there is a sense that there is a build up towards another victory developing by the broadcaster. I think the Netherlands has nailed sending songs that produce emotive responses. Each song feels like it creates a strong connection to the song and triggers an emotive reaction. Overall, Netherlands plays a crucial roll in Eurovision in the 2020s. ~ Tim
