With five Eurovision Song Contests completed this decade, how is each nation faring?
In an ongoing series, the Aussievision team will rate the performance of each Eurovision nation in alphabetical order.
Normally we would be looking back at their results from 2021 to 2025, their qualification record, give our team’s rating, and see how they stack up against other countries. However, as Luxembourg has only just returned for the last two contests, we are looking at 2024 and 2025 only.
Luxembourg's Eurovision results of the 2020s
2024: Tali - Fighter: 13th in Grand Final
2025: Laura Thorn - La Poupee Monte le son: 22nd in Grand Final
Top 10s:Â 0%
Qualifications: 100%
Team rating of Luxembourg: 68%
We asked the Aussievision team to rate Luxembourg's Eurovision 2020s entries on a scale of 1 (lowest) to 10 (highest).
This gave us an average overall score from the 10 contributors who voted. We then converted that into a percentage.
Luxembourg's score was: 68%.
The scores ranged from 9/10 to 4/10, with two team members rating 9/10, one member rating 8/10, two rating 7/10, four members rating 6/10 and one member giving the lowest rating of 4/10.
Team comments
"I really like the way Luxembourg are using Luxembourgish talent in their songs. Yes they have had huge success over the years but usually with borrowed talent. Their national final is slick, they have the cash to splash, why wouldn't they do well. Also - Laura robbed - she should have been top ten with one hell of a compelling package! Well done Luxembourg - keep up the good work!" ~Hayley
"I gave that a very high rating because of how fans react to the news that Luxembourg would return after more than three decades in the wilderness, and to be honest, no matter if they qualify to the Grand Final or not, Luxembourg may be small in size but the Eurovision presence is immensely huge. I think that by the time 2030 comes around, Luxembourg would send songs that prefer quality and relatability." ~John-Christian
"I adored both these entries and I love they have come back to the competition swinging. La Pouppee Monte le son’s staging was so bloody good. I feel like Luxembourg may suffer from voting blocs and established voting patterns, and breaking back in through that is extra challenging. This is a challenge Australia that Luxembourg and Australia perhaps share." ~Troy
