"Ahh this is a tough one. Another country (such a small population) that seems to have a pretty solid music industry, but it doesn't always show up in their national selection! This year was definitely a step in the right direction! My score would of course been 10 points had they chosen to just send Dadi every year. #dadiforicelandeurovision" ~ Hayley
"Iceland has recovered well after a disastrous end to the 2010s. A top five placing is impressive for a country with only 400 000 people. However the placings of the country this decade so far has been rather erratic - languishing at the end of the scoreboard when they reach the Grand Final, to the bomb out by Eurovision legend Hera Björk. The fact I can't even remember how Diljá's 2023 entry goes is emblematic of Iceland's fortunes this decade. I know Iceland can do better. They came second twice in 1999 and 2009, and had an unbroken streak of qualification from 2008 to 2014. It is a real shame 2020 contest was cancelled because I am convinced Dadi would've won, which would have greatly boosted Iceland's ratings." ~ Sam
