Norway: Melodi Grand Prix 2024 semi-final 1 results

This morning saw semi-final 1 of Norway’s Eurovision national selection show ‘Melodi Grand Prix’ (MGP) take place in Oslo.


Ingrid Jasmin, Margaret Berger and GOTHMINISTER were the three acts that received the highest number of public votes and will move through to the Grand Final on 3 February.


Myra, Fredrik Halland and Mathilde SPZ feat. Chris Archer & Slam Dunk were eliminated from the competition after finishing in the bottom three.











The first of the three semi-finals featured six acts fighting for a spot in the MGP Grand Final including one former Eurovision artist.


Performing this evening were:


  1. Mathilde SPZ feat. Chris Archer & Slam Dunk - 'Woman Show'

  2. Fredrik Halland - 'Stranded'

  3. Myra - 'Heart On Fire'

  4. GOTHMINISTER - 'We Come Alive'

  5. Ingrid Jasmin - 'Eya'

  6. Margaret Berger - 'Oblivion'


Margaret Berger previously represented Norway in 2013 finishing fourth with 'I Feed You My Love'.


A total of 18 entries will compete in this year's Melodi Grand Prix, with six songs in each semi-final. The three performers who obtain the most public votes in each will qualify for the final.


The result of the final will be determined by a 60/40 combination of votes from the public and an international jury, giving more weight to the televote.


Semi final 2 of Melodi Grand Prix takes place next Saturday 20th January with the Grand Final scheduled for 3rd February.
