Norway: Melodi Grand Prix 2023 semi-final 2 results




This morning saw the second semi-final of Norway’s Eurovision national selection show ‘Melodi Grand Prix’ (MGP) take place in Oslo.


Swing'it, Jone, and Elsie Bay were the three acts that received the highest number of public votes and will move through to the Grand Final on 4 February.


Sandra Lyng, Alejandro Fuentes, Ella and Bjørn Olav Edvardsen all missed out on advancing and were eliminated from the competition after finishing in the bottom four.







The second of the three semi-finals featured seven acts vying for the chance to perform in the MGP Grand Final.


Performing this evening were:

  • Jone – 'Ekko Inni Meg'

  • Sandra Lyng – 'Drøm d bort'

  • Alejandro Fuentes – 'Fuego'

  • Swing'it – 'Prohibition'

  • Elsie Bay – 'Love You in a Dream'

  • Ella – 'Waist'

  • Bjørn Olav Edvardsen – 'Turn Off My Heart'


A total of 21 entries will compete in this year's Melodi Grand Prix, with seven songs in each semi-final.


The three performers who obtain the most public votes in each show will qualify for the grand final, which will be held in Trondheim in a couple of weeks times.


Tonight's qualifiers will join last week's three advancing acts, Ulrikke, Alessandra, and Umami Tsunami.


Semi-final 3 of Melodi Grand Prix takes place next Saturday 28th January with the Grand Final scheduled for 4th February.
