Norway's Melodi Grand Prix continues its 60th edition this weekend with semi-final 2.
Each semi-final consists of four artists competing in multiple duels that will result with one act advancing direct to the final from each heat. These four songs will be joined in the Grand Final by the five pre-qualified entries as well as the second chance act that will be selected from the twelve songs that didn't advance from their respective semi-finals.
Who is in the line up?
Steffen Jakobsen - 'With Me Tonight'
Steffen Jakobsen is a country artist who has been performing since he was little. He became well known to the Norwegian public when he came 3rd place in Norwegian Idol in 2013. Jakobsen has released two albums and is ready to showcase his deep voice on the Melodi Grand Prix stage.
Lily Löwe - 'Bad Baby'
Lily Löwe is a 26-year-old artist, songwriter and stylist whose music rooted in hard rock but likes to infuse it with elements of other genres such as metal, pop and punk. Löwe intends to challenge audience expectations of the hard rock genre and create her own unique musical universe. Löwe is primed and ready for her debut on the MGP stage and preparing to release her first album.
Farida - 'Dangerous'
Farida started her career in 2016 and received positive attention from Billboard and MTV about her singles ‘Three Weeks’ and ‘Solo Ride’. Farida has experience playing many festivals across Norway, South by Southwest in the US and even touring with artist Dua Lipa. She received high praise for her 2020 single ‘Do About It’ from Norwegian radio station NRK and became a finalist in 'The John Lennon Songwriting Contest' in New York with the same song.
Daniel Lukas - 'Kvelertak’
Daniel Lukas is a 23-year-old singer-songwriter who comes from a musical family, having been interested in music for as long as he can remember. Lukas performed in MGP Junior in 2013 and in 2018 tried his luck in Norwegian Idol where he impressed the judges with a self-composed song. Lukas currently works as a salesman and it is his goal to be able to work in music full time.
Christian Ingebrigtsen – ‘Wonder Of The World’ [Pre-qualified to the final]
Christian Ingebrigtsen is a popular artist with a long spanning career as a solo artist and a member of pop group A1. With A1, Ingebrigtsen achieved ten top 10 singles in the UK and sold over 10 million albums. The singer-songwriter has extensive experience writing National Final songs for both Norway and Finland with four of his tracks for other artists reaching the top 2, including the fan favourite winner of MGP 2020 ‘Attention’ performed by Ulrikke.
