Most streamed songs from the Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga film on Spotify

Five years ago today the Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga film was released!

Back in 2020 the film helped a little in filling the void after the cancellation of the contest due to the covid pandemic.

The feel-good comedy film is about two Icelandic small-town singers Lars Erickssong (Will Ferrell) and Sigrit Ericksdottir (Rachel McAdams), who together form the duo Fire Saga. They get an opportunity of a lifetime to represent Iceland at the Eurovision Song Contest, where high stakes, scheming rivals and onstage mishaps test their bond.

To celebrate the fifth anniversary of the film's release we have ranked the songs from the film based on their streams on Spotify.

Husavik (My Hometown) has seen success following it's release!

The song, performed by Will Ferrell and Molly Sandén (aka My Marianne), charted worldwide in nine countries with top 10 success in Iceland (Tónlist chart No.2), Australia (Billboard Digital Song Sales No. 8) and Scotland (Official Singles No.8).

In 2021 Husavik was nominated for Best Original Song at the 93rd Academy Awards. Molly performed the song from the town of Husavik, Iceland.

Husavik the song resonated so much with the locals of the town of Husavik that the town officially adopted the song as their local anthem.

In 2021 the town officially opened The Eurovision Museum which showcases the Eurovision Song Contest and the film.
