Australia's Eurovision entrant Montaigne will feature on Kurt Fearnley's 'One on One' ABC program this Thursday.
Kurt Fearnley is one of Australia's most well known and decorated Paralympians. After retiring in 2018 he started a media career with his show 'One Plus One' debuting on the ABC this year.
In the show Kurt Fearnley sits down with personalities and storytellers from Australia and around the world, to talk about their work, life, and what makes them tick. His series has so far included people like Baker Boy, Dylan Alcott and Ash Barty.
The promotion for the episode reveals that the Eurovision cancellation will be the focal point saying:
"Jess Cerro (aka Montaigne) was meant to be representing Australia at Eurovision. The pandemic has seen that dream pushed back by 12 months, but hasn't stopped her desire to create and share her art with the world."
This is something she recently talked to The Sydney Morning Herald about also, telling them in a way she counted her blessings,
"I wasn’t really fit enough to perform this year; now I get to hang with my partner. Weeding the garden gives me as much pleasure as Eurovision. Sounds weird, but that’s me.”
She also has doubts that she will perform saying, "I’m resigned to the possibility I’ll never perform in Eurovision.”
After those comments the 30-minute interview of Montaigne with Kurt could reveal some interesting insights.
Tune in to Montaigne's appearance on Kurt Fearnley's 'One plus One' Thursday 10 September at 9:30pm to find out.
