Malta will host Junior Eurovision 2026

The 24th Junior Eurovision Song Contest will be held in Malta, as announced in a press release by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) today.
Maltese broadcaster Public Broadcaster Services (PBS) will take the role of hosting from 2025 winners, France.
This is the second consecutive contest where France will not host following a victory.
The show will take place on October 24 in Ta'Qali - marking a significanty earlier contest than in recent years. The MCFF venue will be transformed into the "Eurovision Festa Village".
This will be the third time Junior Eurovison is held in Malta. Previously, the contest took place in Marsa and Valetta in 2014 and 2016, respectively.

Junior Eurovison Song Contest director Martin Green said he was excited for the competition to return to Malta, citing the country's impressive track reckord and reputable broadcaster.
"Malta has an exceptional track record in the Contest, not only in terms of its successes on stage but also as a host broadcaster that understands how to create a world-class event for young performers," he said.
"We know that PBS will once again deliver a spectacular show that captures the creativity, diversity and spirit at the heart of Junior Eurovision."
PBS Chief Executive Officer Keith Chetcuti said the event was an important moment for Maltese arts and culture.
"This event is a celebration of our warmth and heritage, and we look forward to making this a landmark event," he said.
Chetcuti emphasised Malta's strong position to host such a big competition.
"Malta is not only ready to host such a prestigious event but also committed to keep building its relationship with EBU and our colleague Members."
