Overnight, Maltese broadcaster PBS announced the names of the 18 artists competing to represent Malta at the Eurovision Song Contest 2026.
The format of MESC 2026 will be simplified compared to recent years, with a reduced number of songs. Rather than multiple audition rounds, music videos, or semi-finals, the national final will consist of one 18-song semi-final, to be held on Thursday, 15 January 2026, followed by a 12-song final on Saturday, 17 January 2026. This means that only six songs will be eliminated from the semi-final.
The 18 semifinalists of MESC 2026 are as follows:
Franklin Calleja – Guide You Home
Chess Galea – Shout It Out
Liston Bongailas – Mela
Kurt Anthony – On The Borderline
Stefan Galea – Pose
Ema – Achikuku (Don't Think About It)
Kelsy Attard – Perfectly Broken
Adria Twins – Nerġa' Nqum
Kelsie Borg – Let a Girl Breathe
Matthew Cilia – Brutality Mentality
Matt Blxck – Ejja Lejja Ħdejja 'I Ħawn (The Flute)
Rhiannon Micallef – Hold Myself Up
Mychael Bartolo Chircop – My Sweet Angel
Aidan – Bella
Denise – Trophy
Nathan Psaila – Ganador
Mark Anthony Bartolo – Mumenti Sbieħ
Janice Mangion – Univers
MESC Runners-up
Not one but two MESC runners-up are due to battle it out for the chance to represent Malta at Eurovision in 2026. They will take to the MESC stage in 2026 with their entries, Bella and Ejja Lejja Ħdejja 'I Ħawn (The Flute), respectively.
