Malta announce their Junior Eurovision 2020 entrant

Malta have announced the winner of their Junior Eurovision National Final, and it is Chanel Monseigneur who will fly the flag for Malta this year.

Her winning song is ‘Chasing Sunsets’.

The national final performances of the 11 competitors took place in front of a jury back on September 12th which made up 50% of the vote. The other 50% was made up of online public voting which closed just over a week ago, with the result just announced today.

The winner Chanel is 9-years-old and is from central Malta. She has been singing since she was three and has competed in international contests in places such as Lithuania, Italy and Latvia.

The jury consisted of the likes of both of Malta’s representatives at last year’s Eurovision Song Contest, Michela Pace and Junior Eurovision, Eliana Gomez Blanco.

Malta will be looking to improve on last year’s result, having finished in last place in Gliwice. Junior Eurovision 2020 will take place in Poland’s capital Warsaw on Sunday 29th November at 5pm CET (3am Monday 30th November Australian Eastern Standard Time).
