Eurovision Song Contest 2021 results: Måneskin win for Italy

Måneskin have won the 2021 Eurovision Song Contest for Italy with ‘Zitti E Buoni'. They won a total of 524 points from the expert juries and televoters. France finished in second place and Switzerland came third. 'Zitti E Buoni' is written and composed by Damiano David, Ethan Torchio, Thomas Raggi and Victoria De Angelis.


Måneskin delivers Italy their 3rd Eurovision win!



Måneskin won the 2021 Eurovision Song Contest with a total of 524 points. Italy scored 206 from the jury and 318 from the international televoters. It was enough to win the Eurovision Song Contest by 25 points.


The top five countries in the results were:

  • 1st - Italy - 524 points

  • 2nd - France 499 points

  • 3rd - Switzerland 432 points

  • 4th - Iceland 378 points

  • 5th - Ukraine 364 points


‘Zitti E Buoni' is the first song to win in the Italian language since their last Eurovision win, 31 years ago in 1990.



About Måneskin


Måneskin are a four piece rock band born in the Italian capital Rome. Forming in 2016, the band consists of Damiano David (Main vocalist), Victoria De Angelis (Bass), Thomas Raggi (Guitar) and Ethan Torchio (Drums). To the surprise of many fans the band members rage between 20 to 22-years-old, making their fast rise to fame in Italy all the more impressive.


The group describes their aesthetic as rock with alternative, funk, rap, 'stoner' and glam influences. The band name was coined by member Victoria who is half Danish - after pitching some Danish words to the team they agreed on Måneskin translating to 'moonshine'.


Gaining significant local notoriety with their participation in the eleventh edition of X-Factor Italy where they eventually claimed runner up - their debut album 'Il ballo della vita' stormed to #1, going platinum three times over in 2018.


The group reached heroic status locally with their iconic win at this years Sanremo Music Festival - the ticket that allowed them to compete at Eurovision 2021. Their attendance was confirmed March 7. For those unfamiliar to the festival it is the pinnacle of the Italian music industry and notoriously difficult to win on first attempt in the 'Big Artists' section - Måneskin beat all odds taking home the top prize and joined the exclusive club of Sanremo winners.

Måneskin ended a 31 year wait for a 3rd Eurovision Song Contest victory for Italy. The last winner was

Toto Cutugno with the song ‘Insieme: 1992' back in 1990.
