The Lithuanian Eurovision national selection show ‘Pabandom iš Naujo!’ continued this weekend with the second of the elimination heats.
In the elimination heats only the top 5 out of the 10 acts progress to the finals. The successful acts were be selected by 50/50 combination of jury and public televoting.
Heat 2 Results:
1. Gebrasy – ‘Where’d You Wanna Go?’
2. Gabrielius Vagelis – ‘My Guy’
3. Evita Cololo – ‘Be Paslapčių’
4. Norbertas - ‘Man in Need’
5. Aistė Brokenleg - ‘Home’
6. Sunday Afternoon – ‘Open’
7. Rapolas Meškauskas – ‘Degam’
8. Gabrielė Goštautaitė - ‘Freedom’
9. Cosmic Bride - ‘Solitary Star’
10. UnoBand – ‘Eisiu’
Gebrasy was the televote and jury favourite of the night. He previously competed in the Lithuanian national final in 2019 with ‘Acceptance’. He came 7th in Heat 1, not progressing to the next round.
An Aussievision favourite Gabrielius Vagelis gave a stellar performance together with his bucket hat.
He has performed in the Lithuanian national final before. In 2017 he came 5th in the Final with ‘Feel Myself Free’. In 2018 he was eliminated in the Semi-Final at 7th place with 'The Distant'. Last year he made it to the Semi-Final and came 8th with 'Tave čia randu'.
The biggest surprise shock was Sunday Afternoon who just missed out. Sunday Afternoon who is known as Vilija Matačiūnaitė, previously represented Lithuania at Eurovision 2014 with ‘Attention’. She unfortunately missed out on the final performing directly after Conchita Wurst in the semi final. She finished in 11th place.
The Roop stole the show with their debut live performance of their entry ‘Discoteque’ which resembled their music video released on Friday. They will compete in the final with the lucky acts who get through the semi final.
The Semi-final of 'Pabandom iš naujo!’ 2021 will be on January 30 in Europe and January 31 in Australia.
