Today, Latvian National Broadcaster LTV has revealed the names of the 15 songs and acts competing in 'Supernova 2024', the Latvian Eurovision national selection. This announcement was made on Latvian TV show 'Rīta Panorāma', broadcast on LTV1.
'Supernova 2024', whose final is scheduled for February 2024, received 108 song submissions this year. Of these 108 songs, 15 were chosen to advance to the televised national selection by a jury composed of representatives of the Latvian music and television industry, as well as foreign professionals.
The jury evaluated each composition's originality, arrangement, message, and relevance to modern market trends. In addition to this, the jury has also taken into consideration the performers' vocal abilities, previous achievements in the music industry, and potential for future success.
Agnese Štrause-Kubliņa, Editorial Director of LTV's Children, Youth and Entertainment Programs, said:
"The response of musicians to participation in the competition and the annual active involvement of the audience in voting proves how important it is for each of us that Latvia is represented in honor in the Eurovision Song Contest, which is watched by millions of viewers around the world, the song sounds bright and convincing on the biggest stage in Europe."
