Latvia: Supernova 2022 wildcard winner announced

Latvian broadcaster LTV has announced the 17th semi-finalist of their national final Supernova 2022.

After five days of online voting, Miks Galvanovskis has emerged victorious as the winner of the wildcard place in Supernova with the entry 'I'm Just A Sinner'.

LTV revealed the news on social media, congratulating Miks on the win.

Miks Galvanovskis beat out nine other acts to claim the wildcard spot, including Supernova 2020 runner-up and former Aarzemnieki member Katrīna Dimanta.

Upon hearing that he was the 17th semi-finalist, he took to Instagram to express his excitement and thank his fans for their support.

Miks is no stranger to Supernova, having previously participated in the competition in 2017 with the song 'Runaway'. His 2017 Supernova entry failed to qualify from the semi-finals, so in 2022, Miks is hoping he can make it even further into the competition.

'I'm Just A Sinner' and Miks Galvanovskis will join 16 other entries in taking to the stage for the Supernova 2022 semi-final on 5 February 2022 (Sunday February 6 in Australia).

The top 10 entries with the jury and public vote (or 11 if the jury and broadcaster choose to award a wild card at their discretion) will compete in the final on Saturday February 12 (Sunday February 13 in Australia) where the winner and the Latvian entrant to the 2022 Eurovision Song Contest will be determined.
