Today, Latvian National Broadcaster LTV has revealed the names of the 24 songs and acts competing in the 2026 edition of Supernova, Latvia's Eurovision national selection. This announcement was made during a live stream on the official Supernova YouTube channel.
Supernova 2026, whose final is scheduled for February 2026, received 124 song submissions this year. Of these 124 songs, 24 were chosen to advance to the televised national selection by a jury composed of representatives of the Latvian music, events, and television industries, as well as foreign professionals.
The jury evaluated each composition's originality, arrangement, message, and relevance to modern market trends. In addition to this, the jury has also taken into consideration the performers' vocal abilities, previous achievements in the music industry, and potential for future success.
Agnese Kubliņa, Head of Entertainment and Documentary Content at LTV, said:
"I'm glad that musicians appreciate Supernova. There are more songs than last year, which shows that the desire to bring Latvia's name to the world, the Eurovision audience in the millions, and the achievements so far have obviously encouraged many to apply. In addition, the variety of genres is very wide - from country music to energetic rock compositions. Viewers will have the opportunity to experience exciting shows. Thank you to everyone for their hard work!"
