About the artist: Chloe DelaRosa
At just 9 years old, Chloe has become a social media star, recording covers of well-known songs by Spanish and Latin American artists, many of whom shared them on their own social media. Performing since the age of three, Chloe began recording during lockdown in 2020. She has now released several of her own songs and music videos and performed at various Spanish music festivals.
Chloe was selected to represent Spain by Spanish broadcaster RTVE after entering an online casting call that received almost 300 applications.
About the song: Como la Lola
Como la Lola was composed by Chloe in conjunction with Alejandro Martínez Valderrama, David Parejo Marti and Luis Vicente Ramiro. They are the same team behind 2023 Spanish Junior Eurovision entry Loviu by Sandra Valero which finished 2nd.
Sung in Spanish, Como la Lola (Like Lola), pays homage to Spanish actress Lola Flores with Chloe singing about her desire to be a singer when she grows up just like Taylor (Swift), Olivia (Rodrigo) and Karol (Colombian singer Karol G).
Spain in the Eurovision Song Contest
Spain was one of sixteen countries to have made their debut at the inaugural Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2003, where they finished runner-up with Sergio's Desde el cielo. They competed for the next three years before withdrawing after the 2006 contest. They returned in 2019 and have remained in the contest ever since.
Their best result was María Isabel's 2004 winning entry Antes muerta que sencilla, and they have also come runner-up three times (2003, 2005, 2023) and finished third in 2019 and 2020. Only one of their entries has ever finished outside the Top 10 (15th place in 2022).
As runners-up in the 2023 competition, Spain are hosting this year's Junior Eurovision Song Contest after 2023 winner France passed up the option of hosting the competition for a second consecutive year.
