The penultimate night of Sanremo Music Festival 2026 brought buckets of fun and tears in equal measure with some of the best performances to ever grace the stage of Teatro Ariston seen today.

The 30 artists sang cover songs of iconic Italian or international tunes. The artists could perform with a notable instrumentalist, an acclaimed Italian or international singer or other competitors.

Iconic Moments

Laura Pausini delights again with a medley of Ritorno ad amare, Immensamente and Io canto! This queen really does feel like she's carrying the weight of Sanremo on her shoulders this year.

Elettra Lamborghini - the granddaughter of Ferruccio Lamborghini (yes, as in the man who founded car manufacturer Lamborghini), opens the show with a delightful rendition of Las Ketchup's smash hit Asereje. Las Ketchup also represented Spain at Eurovision 2006!

Much to the delight of my diehard 80s heart, Raf joined on stage by The Kolors and his daughter Bianca Riefoli performed 1984 hit The Riddle by Nik Kershaw. The Italian link to the song is that many people will recognise this tune as the Gigi D'Agostino remix dance hit from 1999, Gigi is an iconic Italian music producer and DJ from Turin!

This morning was the fourth night of the five-day festival - the last night of the week will proceed as follows:

Final Night - Sunday (06:40am AEDT)

  • All 30 artists will perform their songs for the third and final time

  • At the end of televoting, the final ranking will be drawn up comprised of print and TV & Web media jury (33%), a radio jury (33%) and televoting (34%). The Top 5 ranked acts will perform again.

  • A new vote will then be held. Of the top five in the super final - the winner will be decided by televote (34%), press jury (33%) and radio jury (33%). The sum of the votes of all three components, added to the votes of the previous general classification, will finally decree the winning song of the Festival.
