It's Destiny for Malta!

Over the weekend the final of X Factor Malta aired, and the winner was 17-year-old Destiny Chukunyere.

She beat out three other finalists for the title and the Maltese ticket to Rotterdam. Justine Shorfid was the runner up, girl group F.A.I.T.H. came third and Kyle came fourth.

Despite her young age, Destiny has achieved a lot in her career so far.

Eurovision fans will known Destiny as the winner of Junior Eurovision 2015, where her powerful vocals were on show in her song ‘Not My Soul’ and she landed Malta’s second win in the competition in three years.

She also competed in Britain’s Got Talent, finishing 6th in the semi-final.

She has won several awards in Malta and competed in many singing competitions over the years, including the Singer Stage International Festival, Konkors Kanzunetta Indipendenza Junior, Asterix Original Song Festiva, Next Generation and others.

X Factor Malta was only going to determine who Malta’s artist was going to be, with the song to be determined by an internal selection. No date has been announced for the release of the song yet.
