Israel - the four song choices for Eden Alene

Overnight the four songs that Eden Alene will sing in the next stage of Israel’s selection process, HaShir HaBa, were announced.

The four songs are as follows:

Saviour in the Sound

Roots

Rak Ata

Fekir libi

'Fekir Libi' was written and composed by Doron Medalie, the man behind Israel’s winning 2018 entry 'Toy'. 'Fekir Libi' was also written and composed by Idan Raichel, who was one of the interval acts at the 2019 Eurovision Grand Final.

One of the co-writers of 'Roots', Stave Beger, was also one of the composers of Toy.

Eden won HaKokhav Haba L’Eurovision to become Israel's representative this year, beating out three others in the final.

Despite being only 19-years-old, she has achieved quite a bit in her music career.

She won X-Factor in 2018, and so by winning this won herself a recording contract.

She’s the youngest Israeli representative since Nadav Guedj, and also the first Israeli representative to have been born in the new millennium.

HaShir HaBa will take place on 3rd March (5am AEDT 4th March).

Eden will perform the four songs, and then the Israeli public will get a chance to vote. The voting split will be 30% televote, 65% jury and 5% on-show judging panel.

This will be the first time since 2016 that the Israeli public will be able to help select their entry. After criticisms were made of the of the previous internal selection process, these changes were made.
